I have recently started to change gearcase oil on my 16 Viper. I found this piece after removing my muffler. Does anyone know where it goes.

Never seen that before! Looks like a spring pulling tool.

That would make sense.....ive just never seen a spring pulling tool like that before. Your reply certainly helped!

Or a hose guide of some kind! Bolted on the small end. But I don't remember seeing anything like that. Hose would have to get fed through so not something that would fall off

Never seen that part either and had motor stripped down for turbo install

Hard to tell since we don't have a size reference.
It looks like a recoil rope guide for a 2 stroke application.
Many different engine configurations go into the procross chassis.

To me it looks like a spring in Dzus fastner.

I’ve replaced tunnels sub-frames and bulk-heads and never seem that part before!
