Looking for some recommendations on the best all around helmets for riding. Only interested in full face ones with a heated shield. Modulars are preferred but I have noticed with those there are alot of drafts that let the cold air in. I currently run HJC modulars which were the top of the line ones for HJC a few years ago but after my son complained alot on our ride the other day and I tried it they do let alot of cold air in to much in my opinion. I run a Ski Doo Modular2 which I have been happy with. Not too too cold but really wondering now if theres better alternatives out there since mine needs a new heated shield which I can only find for 150 bucks. We are having a banner year for snow so far in Maine this year but the downfall has been really cold temps with temps well below zero and thats without any windchill. For instance Fort Kent has a forecasted low of -35 tonight and high of -14 tomorrow and thats straight up temps not with any windchill. So lets hear your comments and suggestions. Thanks in advance and ride safe but ride like hell.

I have 4 years on a bv2s and it is hands down the best helmet I have used. No electric shield and the only time I have ever wished I had one was in freezing rain.

BV2s by FAR the BEST helmet you an buy. Worth the price. Rode 1500 miles around the Gaspesie peninsula in -50F below zero and not a single problem. We all had them and no heated shields no issues at all! Dont waste your money on any other helmet!!

Bvs2 hands down the best
The only helmet that glasses won't fog up in and they are very warm.

My personal opinion is Bombardier BV2S and your done no need for heated shield. has HD sun visor very large field of view. and even a light so you 2 smoke buddies behind you can see you waiting at the next stop sign for them to catch up. can get from a snow show for I want to say $325.00 but I maybe wrong on that have had mine for 5 years now and is the only helmet I ever use for ridding. and I did put on 325 miles in a day at 23 below one time and it kept me warm.
If I were going to a full face modular the bv2s is the one I would get. I've seen a bad accident where a flip up modular failed and broke apart in the front. I like the bv2s as it has a solid chin bar

Why I never liked Modulars, but I did not know that about BV2.

I think I'll stick with my HJC Snell approved Hellion with E-shield for the time being.
I don't find it cold but I do wear what I think is the warmest/best Balaclava, the Unwind.
I read great reviews about it and I was looking for something that protected the neck/chest area better and this did it for me.

Thanks guys for all the replies looks like I'll be putting some money aside for a BVs2. Actually found some at my Harley Dealer who also sells Ski Doo and they have them for 365 gonna see if I can get it for a little less since I'm a good customer of theres. Bought my wifes Renegade there and my Harley along with lots and lots of add ons for both my bikes.

I have not tried the BVS, have tried ever other one out there and they are all cold for me so far. The best helemt I had was a SnoForce Modular, however I lost it in a cabin fire and they no longer make it. Been thinking about BVS since last week my face froze in my g-max modular, air was coming in everywhere. I am also am getting rid of our low/cool looking windshields, it may look cool but it is way to cold this year. May put RS venture windshields on, too old to care about looks, want comfort!
