An 800 HPDI with the Arctic Cat slotted piston might just be the ticket for kicking Ski Doo's AZZ !

So, would the 800 2 S actually be faster than the Apex?

oh yes so much more faster it would blow the apex away because we have real world data on it to tell you this lol sorry just being a #$%&*

So here's the info I was able to pry outta my rep. DONT SHOOT THE MESSENGER AS IM NOT SURE HOW CREDIBLE this is or if he's bluffing me:

All new Apex Chassis
New 800 Twin two stroke Motor and two new chassis in the Vector
Only change on Viper is factory ordered and installed Turbo.

If I see/hear anymore or other can confirm these please do so.

Thanks !
I've been getting told 2stroke with Yamaha direct injection. But nothing to definate or serious. But lots of the, what do you think "HINT" if we produced a ........ also told I'm gonna be very excited for what's out this year, so we will see

The one thing I could think of with the two stroke tech would be partially from the fact AC was ceasing sourcing motors from Suzuki and doing it on their own. Perhaps they are looking for Yamaha tech for their engines during this partnership????

Sxrider I would almost think that. But they were pretty adamant that they are developing their own chassis. Evident by all the updates to vector and apex.

The story I got was by being partners with cat they have rights to all patents used on the procross. So now they don't have to deal with legal issues because cat took those on the chin cpl years previous. Now they can refine everything and make it lighter and stronger and more efficient.

So dunno.

Also on curious note. Notice all the racers seem to be selling or advertising that "at end of season" a lot before the date of release of the new products. Just some "conspiracy theory" for you guys

2-stroke i doubt. I have been in the marine business for over 20yrs and have not seen a new 2-stroke from Yamaha at all in the past 5 or so. To make a 2-stroke for snowmobiles only, would be stupid for Yamaha.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the new 600 c-tech built by Cat? I thought their new 800 was going to be built on the same platform as the 600 calling it the 800 c-tech.... built by Cat. Yamaha got out of the 2 smoke business a long time ago (stupid) and would be extremely surprised if they got back into it..... over a decade later!

That's what I thought too. The 600 C-Tech has been getting great reviews, so Cat will probably built the same motor in 800cc.
Then it got me thinking, would Yamaha allow Cat to put a C-Tech in one of their platforms?

Yes, all the reviews say it is the 600 to have at this point in time.... supposed to have the most power and best fuel/oil economy of all the 600's and I have not heard of any failures. But I'm sure once they make the 800 version it will be garbage just like the 800 etec.
Personally I don't think we will ever see another performance 2 smoke in a Yamaha chassis ever again.

I know your speaking about the snowmobile business when you say "Yamaha got out of the 2 smoke business a long time ago". This is only true for the sled business as Yamaha still makes and constantly refines a YZ 125 and 250 two stroke, and a SuperJet Waverunner, which coincidentally has a 800 twin in it's belly.
