I have no interest in going back to a 2 stroke. Has anyone built a reliable 2 cylinder 2 stroke above 700cc? Only one that comes to mind are the old zr 800/900. The only 2 stroke I would be remotely interested in would be a small.....600 to 800cc.... 2 stroke direct injected TRIPPLE. With todays tech they could build that light enough to get interest. Smooooooth power!!
Ya everyone wants the big pistoned power thumping twin. I'd much rather have a triple, so smooth!

With a 6000 RPM torque line on a 4 stroke, why would you want a 1000 RPM torque bump of a 2 stroke.

And if the market is demanding 2strokes don't you feel shareholders and a smart businessman would swallow their pride and build one?
Nope, no way. Not unless there's a solid ROI and profit in the situation.

Largest manufacture in the industry doesn't have a single 4stroke, Yamaha is last and has only 4strokes. The fact Polaris outsells Yamaha probably 4 or 5 to 1. As a business man that would be my incentive

Yamaha 4-stroke engine longevity is 4 or 5 to 1 over Poo too. Coincidence?

I have looked everywhere the internet can look and no one has posted a good picture of a new sled. My best guess is they have been testing something in the Viper body and are just going to tweak it. Maybe a new 900 cc triple 4 stroke the Single Shot suspension and new side panels and Graphics.. Ala Sidewinder .. If there was a totally new Chassis and body work someone would have seen it and with all the cell phones out there taken a picture !!

Longevity or not the sales numbers are what they are. Consider production costs also. Yamaha hadent developed a motor since the nytro in 08. That's good life but 8-10 year old motors don't fly in this fickle industry. Costs to produce these motors are so high they can't redesign them with new tech any less than 10 years. Or provide a motor using current Yamaha tech to give 80% of the market what they are asking for. Think what you guys want. Not saying that it will happen just saying it's not an unreasonable thought.

Personally i think the only new sled coming from yamaha will be some sort of a sno-bike.

"No Way" they would just release a Bike. They need a sled first then maybe a bike.

That worries me. If everyone's wrong then it's probably not what everyone's begging for. If it's a stupid sno-bike gimmick I'll be beside myself.I now know but cannot say...I mean I really can't!!! I'll say this much, everyone is wrong but it sounds pretty rad.

Got me concerned too,i'm done waiting.... been on Yamaha for well over 25 years,if it's a sno-bike gimmick i'm moving on to another brand. That worries me. If everyone's wrong then it's probably not what everyone's begging for. If it's a stupid sno-bike gimmick I'll be beside myself.
