New 2017 Yamaha Sleds...

I've watched the video a bunch of times... I DON"T think it's a crotch rocket seating style vehicle. Yes, in one shot, it looks like the rider is leaning forward, but I think that's more for effect/camera clearance.. in another shot from the rear, it's clear the rider has his hands at almost shoulder level.
I don't think its a replacement for the Apex, I DO think its a high performance sled...maybe a rush-inspired suspension design that fits between the NYTRO and the Viper...
it's anyone's guess of course....
But you can see right through the guys legs in a couple of the frames.

I'm going with a Snow scoot on steroids also, I see what looks like a standard width front end with tall spindles if you catch the last frame before the scene changes at the 11/12 second mark. Narrow looking chassis too, wonder if it's not a V4 like someone said awhile back in the 2017 thread to keep things compact.

Do they make those type of snow bikes with two skis? You can see the sled in that video has two skis

You will never see a snow bike with one ski on the trails, it's been tried by a Quebec company years ago AD Boivin. They created the Snow hawk, great for deep snow but they couldn't get it to handle the trails. Even though they rounded the edge of the track and built a specific ski, it just didn't work well on the trail.

Something like this. Maybe with articulated front end.

I would LOVE a snow-bike ! Gotta have two skis, though. I always wanted an Apex for the engine. But I never pulled the trigger due to the fact I would strip it down and modify it for REALLY bumpy trails. They all are nice to ride when the trails are smooth. But once the BIG bumps arrive, not so nice. The sled in my mind IS a crotch rocket style sled with a true 12 inch travel rear suspension and a true 10 inch front suspension. The articulating aspect is difficult to comprehend. I remember a video game at the arcade that consisted of a sport bike held centered by springs. To maneuver the "rider" around the track, you had to carefully lean the "bike". Very difficult. We would just put our feet down and cheat to get through the game. If this new machine has an articulating front end, I would have to try it before i buy it. That big motor needs to be in a bike-type frame to achieve the magic 450 lbs target weight. Light weight snowmobile chassis's don't hold up. Which is why I don't own a ski doo or Polaris. I break them too easily.

Well its got 2 skis. The motor sounds like nothing else currently on the snow. I hope they come with taller windshields. It looks as if the rider is leaning to turn?
