rumour has it that it's a cat chassis, 4 cylinder turbo 200 hp. They did a photo shoot just down the road from me on the weekend. Guess we will know for sure March 1st.

also going to be called the sidewinder. We shall see March 1st. I am very happy with my Turbo Viper for now, But I will be buying this new sled after it has a year under its belt. I usually buy a 1st model year, but not this time!

Dreams come thru if it is a 4 cylinder in a new light chassis ,maybe next year i will have a new sled :)

Not a 4 cyl but a 3cyl Viper factory turbo 180hp with new skin and fast!! Same set up that will be in the new Cat side by side.

Can anybody make this picture larger and zoom it in. :)

I made it bigger on my iPad .....just looks like slightly redesigned body work on the cat, suspension and seat looks the same as the current sleds.....I sure hope there's more to it.

man, this will be a long awaited new performance sled from yamaha...just hope its up to the hype and the wait..

I really hope Yamaha doesn't employ turbocharging on their new flagship if they release one. They have the engine already- just tweak the existing Apex engine. It will run with anything 200 horse and less. Turbos are cheap bandaids for power. Lag can never be eliminated and will never feel like a proper N/A engine. If they want to resort to boost then do it properly- use a Supercharger.

I wouldn't call a turbo a cheap band aid. Certainly not cheap and I'm guessing you haven't ridden a Viper turbo ? Turbo Viper is not associated with lag by any means. I do agree I'd prefer to see a high HP N/A engine from Yamaha and preferably a 4 stroke.

Although i'm not against a turbo, i'd prefer not to have one. One more thing to go wrong. Not to mention weight, heat, peaky power, pop off valves. Did i mention one more thing to go wrong...but it looks like i may be owning one in 2017!

BTW, I was crooning around on DOOTALK & WOW are they bitchin' just like us. They want a new chassis & a high HP 4-stroke. I was amazed at how many were disappointed in E-tec lifespan & lack of HP in 1200 that has so much more to give. They're PISSED...

in yamaha made chassie with yamaha fueling. so what they should have made in 2014!

Just a question, not to you specifically but to all in general. Why is a Yamaha chassi so important. They haven't had a good current designed chassi in what 30+ years? They didn't even move out of the pogo to a trailing arm till 97. By that time it was obsolete. And please don't tell me the Delta box or newer nytro was any better. We finally have a awesome chassi and now one wants it. Good grief?????? Can it be March 1st already so at least all the complaining will be about new topics. These give me a headache.
