Are any of you receiving a new (free) belt upgrade with the shim update? An unnamed dealership says since it's a wear item, it must be paid for and the warranty will not cover it. Just curious.

Yes, I was called last Spring by the dealer to come in and get it done for no charge. Maybe it is only being done on the machines that have had reverse problems - I don't know.

Did you have any reverse issues, and if so, did the update help? Also, any squeal with the new belt?
Thanks,

my reverse wasnt engaging like everybody else's,so the shim really helped,he gave me the new belt but i didnt install it right away,i did have some squeal only on take off,but since then i put the new updated belt and no more squeal, the original belt has 6300 miles and its still very good

Thanks for the replies. I was able to work a belt deal out with the dealer (won't call them my dealer), but nonetheless, it turned out in my benefit.

any problems on getting old belt off and new one on

I've not had a problem, although they're much more difficult on this sled than a tradional secondary that has the movable sheave opposite of the Phazer.

what's the trick to get it off

Others on here have certain tricks they use; I simply push in on the inner sleeve of the secondary to seperate the two halves. This will allow the belt to be "rolled" out of the secondary. It's always a good idea to put the parking brake on, but remember to take if off when preparing to drive the sled.
The reason other sleds are easier is because the outer half of the secondary is the one to compress inward to get the belt off and it's obviously right there on the outside of the sled where you have access to it. On the Phazer, it's on the inside.
