New Speedo

I had a chance to demo ride a 06 Apex yesterday in Florence NY. It was a bright sunny day. I noticed the speedometer seemed harder to read than on my RX-1. There is a shadowbox now around the speedo for styling. This sometimes shaded the digits and made them more difficult to read. I also don't know if the digits are the same size as on the old speedo. They might be a little smaller (only a guess)

I believe there is an adjustment for brightness on the new gauges. Maybe it was turned down.

There are actually 5 settings for the back light on the new gauges

really...all this time ridng them and I had no idea...LOL, how do you set that??

You would have to ask............A dealer at the Portland show was showing me all the features of the new gauge.....I believe that he held down on one of the buttons (Mode maybe I don't remember) for a 2 to 10 seconds and the display changed to show 5 squars..you then used the left rocker to change the back light from 1 to 5.............Sorry I wasn't paying more attention............but you know what happens when you are IN LOVE

lol hard to say goodbye was it Look at it this way you probably have more hours on an 06 than any non yamaha person in the world! You earned it
Although i woulda been tempted to hide it somewhere and say it got stolen

it was ...I was holding onto the bars kicking and screaming as the pried me off the machine...it was a sad day...LOL
