Hi guys, switching over from the 2 strokes to try a 4 stroke. I recently purchased a 2014 sr viper ltx. I dont have any maintenance records at all. it currently has only 853 miles on it. I am hoping I can get some feedback on anything i should be checking on it. As always, any help is appreciated.

Make sure the detent update was done and get latest flash. That’s it. Congrats on a great sled!
An oil and filter change was required at 500 mile break in before next season I would do that. Otherwise ride it if you have cold or warm starting issues check with dealer to see if it was eber updated flash wise they can tell by the vin #. Then ride it for as many miles as you want and if something comes up the answers are always here.

I am going to change the engine oil myself. K&n 147 filter and mobil 1 0W30 . is it necessary to have a new oil plug gasket? thanks

Yes especially the rubber O-ring on tank. I dont like that setup. O-ring should have a seat and not just be squished. One reason I went with the EZ Drain setup TD Max came up with and Ulmer sells.I am going to change the engine oil myself. K&n 147 filter and mobil 1 0W30 . is it necessary to have a new oil plug gasket? thanks

If using Mobil 1 I'd grab the 0w40 Euro spec if its available in your area. Do you happen to know if it has the most recent update flash?I am going to change the engine oil myself. K&n 147 filter and mobil 1 0W30 . is it necessary to have a new oil plug gasket? thanks

Only 14' need it, 15+ has it stock. It's an updated shaft that connects the reverse actuator to the gear shift in the case. 14's didn't have the groove cut in the shaft/ no spring detent. What is the detent update?

i have not been to a dealer yet to run the vin on any updates. Just wondering how much does a dealer charge for updates, and since its an 2014 would they still do detent under any warranty or recalls if it hasn't been done.

Not sure but it would be a very inexpensive thing to buy and real easy to put in. Boy searching through some old post for this picture brings up some bad memories.
