2018 LTX-SE. Just fixed a leak in the oil tank seal and got 200 miles of good service out of the machine without issue. Noticed last night the belt was slipping, came back to my house and about a half quart down and oil all over the bottom and clutch side of the engine/body pan.
Anyone know where these machines are prone to leaks other than the oil tank to chaincase? Doesn't look like the leak is coming from that area any longer.

I overfilled my oil once and oil blew out into the air box. These sleds are sensitive to being overfilled. Check your air box for any oil as that may be a likely source. A loose oil filter could also be a suspect as well.

If You changed oil filter these sleds tend to keep old o ring from filter stuck on engine . Double o ring will leak everywhere. Seen it many times.

You don't want to fill the oil up to the top mark when you change oil. It will blow it out. I fill mine to the bottom mark. When the sled gets up to normal operating temp the level stays between the marks.

Definitely didn't overfill, I put it right between the marks cold. I didn't change the filter when I did the oil tank seal. I had just done an oil change, but ran it 500 miles and no leaks. I would have noticed if there was two orings stacked under the filter.
I had a couple belts pop last year so wondering if maybe when they shredded they took out the crank seal. Hopefully it's not leaking out the bottom of the engine. May as well call it a season.

Water pump weep hole is behind primary clutch.

When you say 1/2 quart down where does that put you on your oil level marks right now?

Halfway between the low line and the bottom fitting in the tank casing. Maybe a smidge lower. Filled back up to the middle of the two lines cold.
Coolant level was OK. Noticed it was low about a month ago and topped off. Probably evaporation from sitting.

check air filter housing. See if the hose came out of the back.

Highly unlikely it's your crank seal because the real seal is inside the case behind the stub shaft. AND, the outer bearing is a double-sealed bearing so if the inside seal leaks then oil would have to get through both seals of the bearing to leak to the outside. I would suspect oil filter leaking or maybe the oil pressure sending unit that's right near the oil filter (towards the clutch side). I've seen a couple sleds where that sending unit was leaking.Definitely didn't overfill, I put it right between the marks cold. I didn't change the filter when I did the oil tank seal. I recently had my chaincase leaking turned out it was plugged breather. The oil was all over the place even over to clutch side. Didn’t get on clutch’s though. It would only come out on longer runs like30 plus miles between stops. Could not pin point where it was leaking even ordered a new case. That I now have on the bench. Near as I could tell it would pressure up and seep out the gasket oring. No mess on running boards, only place it would collect is under the motor. Once in awhile you could smell it burning off when you stopped. You could tell it was gear oil then. If you push a blue towel behind the chaincase forward down the bulk head and it doesn’t collect s oil. You should be able to eliminate the chain chase.
Can you smell oil or is it just collecting

If rollover valve froze up it will blow out your chaincase gasket from pressure building upI recently had my chaincase leaking turned out it was plugged breather. I could smell it during my last time down the lake. I really hope it's not the chaincase seal again. I just did it three weeks ago and sealed it real good with right stuff black
Will check everything and report back
