Roll over valve problem.

we in the east mostly trail ride, this valve makes sense to me when trail riding and "ditch bangin". If the sled flips over I can normally turn it off. Most likely to flip over while loading on the truck lol.

If I was in the mountains a teather would be a must!

Joe there is no way that you would be able to shut it off fast enough to eliminate massive oil leaking without a tether. There must be something else preventing oil spill on Winder since I have not heard of any spills. Before the Rollover valve and Tether on Viper I was messing around on trail hitting the berms in corners shooting roost. I had a very slow roll on right side on a berm and basically just fell off sled. She was maybe a bit further than on its side since bar was into the snow but I stayed with sled and had to have hit kill within a second or two. Still ended up with over a quart and a half on trail and Skidoo buddy that came up behind me laughing his butt off! Bought the Rollover valve with tether the next day.

The Sidewinder ROV is very simple it is just a plunger with a spring on the back side, once the oil tank builds pressure the plunger is pushed and the pressure is relieved. That means there is always some pressure in the oil tank. It really doesn't do much good without a tether. I saw first-hand a sw rolled over and the throttle got pinned, oil made it to the air box and into the engine which created a monstrous plume of smoke. Not good.

I disagree that it was made to come open to clean. That might be a good idea but I would want a snap ring or something for a retainer, not just press fit!

Just trying to take the glass half full approach to the stupid valve coming apart tnc110. Guess it still is a issue in winders.

an aftermarket valve thats plug and play into the tether would be perfect...

Ask and you shall receive! The photos below are of a ROV installation on a King Cat. Basically it's a Viper ROV kit with some minor modifications for additional heat protection for some of the components.
Since it's based off of the Viper kit, it will include a ROVCM and the Quick Prime functions as well. The valve is a normally open valve just like on our other ROV kits and designed to be another option compared to stock normally closed valve.
There's still some more testing to do and I still need to write the instructions as well as do some website work yet. The Sidewinder/King Cat ROV project is progressing along nicely though!

I simply removed the spring and plunger from the valve.

I know this will not help with roll over so I don't recommend this for mountain riders. I'm 100 percent trail and if i roll over there's a lot more then oil getting in the air box I have to worry about.

Get the rollover valve as soon as possible. Don't make a minor incedent into a big one.
