Roll over valve problem.

what does the inside look like?

I pulled my hose the other day...makes sense cannondale's theory...probably made to come apart for cleaning...I think the inside is a valve assemble little metal valve with a light spring behind? yes mine pushed in easily...but supposedly that means nothing right? the key being while running is the oil resi building pressure (valve sticking) or not (proper) correct?

SJ you said it perfectly. the last sentence is what guys need to read

I've tested 4 sidewinders recently for pressure in the tank. Everyone build a pressure , and actually every one has a leaky tank. Two are really bad and 2 just a small leak so far.[/QUOTE]

Might get gummy from sitting over summer. I don’t understand how the thing even works. I understand the ball in viper separator. Gravity closes it but what closes this other than if engine shuts off?

This one is normally closed. So spring pressure hold its closed. So the pressure needs to over come the spring to open.

I like the valve actually. It's a good idea. This oil tank is the problem. Why is it open on the chain case side and needs to be sealed. Why not have a sealed unit bolted to the case.

Joe we call it a rollover valve but is it? I don't see how rolling over causes a pressure change. Maybe it is just a fancy PCV valve and there is something else? As far as the tank yes that would make sense but not Cents!

It's a roll over valve .I think if the machine tips over it will restrict oil flowing past it because it's got spring pressure behind it pushing it closed. Some will leak by but not like an open vent line.
The pressure change is when the engine is running. Like a pcv
The key for me is to not be upside down with no valve

I get that but these things just keep on running even upside down.

Your exactly right it is a fancy Pcv the sled needs to be shut off for it to work correctly which is y I don’t know why it doesn’t come with a teather factory

we in the east mostly trail ride, this valve makes sense to me when trail riding and "ditch bangin". If the sled flips over I can normally turn it off. Most likely to flip over while loading on the truck lol.

If I was in the mountains a teather would be a must!
