I'm not home to look at my sled, but looking at some pictures it appears that the oil tank is below the separator. How can "over filling" the tank cause oil to leak from the separator?

The sled has never been on its side, I suspect (hope) it is just a result of the oil being above full when I first received it from the dealer. On an off note big thanks to Thunder Products heavy hitters, Ran out of room on the lake yesterday at 101 mph still pulling, figured I would have ran exactly where Lon said it would --103-105 but still hitting the rev limiter on take off.

I've never filled my tank to full, these motors usually run at high rpms so it's always being lubricated any excess will just be sent out the vent tube at those rpms and end up in your airbox. 3.6

Well, I removed the airbox and separator , cleaned and ran it on the lake, oil was back, Called my dealer, he said to bring it down to replace the separator under warranty, he told me(if I remember correctly) that some separators have a faulty (weak) spring in the check valve. Should I be able to hear the ball rattling around when I gently shake it or turn it upside down? Hope this is the fix.
Oh and BTW thanks for all the help folks..

Hi there. thanx alot for all the really great posts, helping me alot. I had problem today with my oil separator probably frozen. I have a 190 MCX kit on my viper and the oil was coming out of the air intake. it eventually sucked the oil trough the turbo and inside engine so it died. i didnt see the oil spill at first so i tried to crank it again, but found out cylinders were filled with oil.
After reading some posts here i took in inside warm garage, took down the turbo, was filled with oil. then got off the oil separator, it was filled with water. i cleaned it with breake cleaner. i can se the ball valve inside down in one of the hoses, but is it supposed to be all loose and making rattling sound when you shake it? I thought it maybe was supported by a spring?again, is it supposed to make rattling sound when you shake the separator ? Did they replace yours? please help

Here it is, I put 300km's on my sled this weekend with the new separator No oil !!!!!
it was certainly a bad check valve in the separator.
