Hi.

Notice my 2016 MTX turbo is getting the oil pressure warning light when doing long cat walks. Is there any fix to this yet, or is just something i have to live with?

Thanks

Mine non tourbo same thing

Wow. Okay. I read here everyday and see nothing but people trying to help out others. Maybe no one has "helped you" because they are not having the same issue or do not know the answer. I have 2000K on my sled and have had no issues at all what so ever. I have an MPI turbo with the oil relocate so maybe that is why I don't have issues. My understanding is that the ball freezes and then the engine pressure builds up and forces oil into the airbox. From what I have read you can clean this and make sure the ball moves freely. Maybe invest in the oil relocate. Not sure as I don't have any issues with oil.

Help is also a two way street. Pay it forward and help someone else with an issue and maybe Karma will help you out. Just saying.

Thanks, but the issue is not that it's spitting oil out into the intake.

When you catwalk over a longer distance, the oil pump sucks air because of the position of the oil tank, and all the oil beeing on the side of the oil tank, and not the bottom where the pick up is.

I don't have this issue nor do any of the other eight or nine Vipers I ride with. But we also dont catwalk for extreme distances either. Just curious but how long do you have to catwalk it before the light comes on?

I think if anybody has had this issue they would be more than happy to help out. That's what this site is all about after all.

It takes about 10-15 seconds while catwalking before it comes on.

Have you tried running your oil level closer to the high mark on the dipstick rather than in the middle?
Not really. Ive been told that it spits out the excessive oil if it was overfilled?

I wouldn't overfill it but I would get closer to the full mark. You would be adding 6 to 8 ounces more oil so maybe that little bit of oil would make a difference for cat walking? Easy to try.

I understand what you mean about the oil being at the back of the tank during a catwalk and then the pickup tube sucking air because it's in the middle of the tank. Maybe you would have to make a custom oil tank with the pickup tube towards the back so when the sleds vertical the pickup is still under oil. That would not be that hard to do with your original tank

Yup I and all vipers I ride with have this problem too, but everyone seems to ignore it. Drives me crazy I can't even climb a hill or it comes on and cuts power. I have made some threads on this too but no help.
I have now heard that you can put resistors in the sensor harness to make the switch come on at a low point. Not really a fix but it makes the sled rideable. Let me know how that phone call goes!

Good idea on the pickup location I may try this.
Yeah any oil over the hash marks will just blow out the breather. Tried that.
