Can someone please post pictures?
These guys with trouble have Turbos. I have not heard of a issue with N.A. Stock sleds. I took my box off for inspection and no issue with ice or dirt at all. In my opinion the separator works fine unless you tip it on right side when oil will come out. Here is where it is if you want to look at it.

We had this oil problem on a non-turbo Viper (All stock) last season. We'll see if it does the same thing this season.

Hey gents. My Nytro often ends up on its' back every season, for a variety of reasons. The boys here at Yukon Yamaha suggest that I install the oil separator on my Nytro to reduce the annoyance of topping up oil on the trail - and having to clean up a mess later. So I am wondering :
a) who else would recommend this?
b) if not then why not?
c) if so, would the position beside the tank as shown cause any issues? PS I have just placed the separator in place and not completed the installation
Thanks

Based on this pic you would be close. I really dont want to get specific because the hieght is probably very critical. Hoping 4st solutions chimes in here. With his rollover valve he is a expert on this subject. I assume you have the rollover valve already?

I have not installed a rollover valve. It was suggested that this gizmo would do the trick.
Well the Nytro tank is basically the same as a Viper tank and oil Seperator which you are adding. The Viper has oil loss issue as does Nytro. So I would say get a rollover valve and use the tether. Is only thing I have found that stops the oil when on side or lid.

Both of our sled leaked oil when on side pre turbos(stock) We then installed the turbos before the bypass kit was available from MPI they still spilled oil when on there side just like stock sled. When the kit become available from MPI we installed and never had any more issues.
There is another option Arctic blonde. Yamahaguys that quote from me was in reference to the Seperator checkbball freezing or plugging up. Really nothing to do with leaking oil when tipped. Both of our sled leaked oil when on side pre turbos(stock) We then installed the turbos before the bypass kit was available from MPI they still spilled oil when on there side just like stock sled. If the sled was tipped on its side or if the ball float was frozen MPI's Air/oil bypass kit would help either scenario.
If the ball is frozen shut the engine can't expell crankcase pressure thus blowing out the oil. How would mpi bypass help that?If the sled was tipped on its side or if the ball float was frozen MPI's Air/oil bypass kit would help either scenario.

Cannondale, MPI changes the routing of the air/oil box return line. On a stock sled that line returns below the oil level(bottom of oil tank) and with the bypass kit its routed to the stator cover where its above the oil level. So now the oil is not being pressured out in the case of a frozen ball float.
The check ball is in the breather line though. The big lines. One of us is confused. Maybe if you or Mpi took a pic or drawing I could understand if I am thinking it wrong.
