Old guys on Winders

Every year I wonder how this forum is going to make it to the next snowmobile season , and keep guys posting thru the summer .
Nothing now surprises me .
As Pigeonlake started this thread , it is only appropriate that he clarifies what age he intended "old guys on Winders" to be.

P.S. StevewithOCD , would that be soft wood, hard wood , OR old growth forest ????
Well. Good question. For me once I hit 65 long days hurt more

Paul, it’s good to see you loving your sidewinder,
We need to hookup for a ride this winter, our northern Ontario trip was one to remember:)..
Hey Fabio. Those were long hard days. But I m glad I did it. Would be great to ride together again

That will fit my upcoming August 64th birthday also, will have to find that tune online and add to my tune library
Still loving that 17 LTX-LE with the Max Spool 16 flash. That is a tune of a different kind

Only a couple of days away For you Pete. Happy 64th Birthday to you Pete!

Enjoy all you can while you can my friend.

What a great thread!
Turned 60 last month, ride every chance I get. Long riding days and liquid gels makes the pain go away! Been riding since 1976 on a 340 moto ski. Love it the same today, as the very first ride. While taking numerous trips up north with the family, every time I would see a trailer going south I would say to the kids Snowbeelers. Now that they are in their late twentys and early thirties every time they see a trailer headed in the oposite direction they yell the same. I guess I taught them well! Lol

Ya long days hurt and ache now BUT with sledding it’s a great hurt. As grand pa use to say, “it’s terrible good”.

In the Mid-West you may say "it's terrible good," but up in the Northeast Corner, we say it's "some ol'wicked awesome, Ayuhh!" Honestly, I have some aches & pains most of the year, but they all seem to fade away when winter comes. I have also found that a glass of good Irish whiskey after I get off my sled seems to be just as effective as ibuprofen or acetaminophen, and tastes a whole lot better going down.

That it was. I am still daydreaming about some of the rides I had, and kicking myself for not taking the time to do more of them! It was a great winter, and my Sidewinder just made it all that much more fun. I am praying for another winter just like it.

Ah yes. A beer and scotch at the end of the ride. Priceless. Standing in the driveway with the crew loading sleds and discussing the day.
