YES it floats as seen in video, when there is NO engagement you can use the NUT to adjust belt drop, as soon and clutch engages the secondary clutch is floating (after engagement there is no more force on the helix and clutch is floating as it did before.. I hope that helps you understand... there is no reason to have the clutch float while your at idle ...(you can test this your self by pushing the belt down in the secondary clutch and move the clutch in and out..
we do have this for the NYTRO and soon to have it for apex this belt adjuster is very cool and will allow you to make all adjustments with out secondary clutch removal.
thanks guys the first 25 are gone.. we are working on the second batch... stop by the Yamaha booth at the NOVI show check out our outlaw viper, I will have few goodies with me...
Thank you for coming back on to answer my questions.
The new video is much better at explaining things

My stock bolt went right in. Stupid question but you did take off the washer right?

Yes. No biggie probably a bit big bolt.

Now for the good news. See this plate that is no longer being used? Remove it and you just gained more than enough adjustment even for a well worn 8DN belt without machining anything. Tell me if I am wrong?

just sand the flange edge on sander take of .05 must be some differences in bolts, I use a stock bolt for testing fit... she was close but fit...

Yes no biggie. What do you think about removing the contact plate to gain adjustment?
