OSP SR Viper belt adjuster with float

Finally is it working without this plate Cannondale27?
Yes I never put it back in but the plate isnt what allows more adjustment for belt wear. I was wrong about that. If you remove your spring you can see the bottom of clutch faces hit before the plate does. So only benefit is wieght savings and not worth the trouble of getting those screws loose. Thought I updated that info but good to bring it back up. Thanks Jeff

Ok then, the only way to have more belt deflection ajustment is machining the clutch? My OSP adjuster is completely unscrewed (with the 3 screws on the back removed) and it seem that I need more adjustment...

I dont believe that you cant get enough. I preach this all the time. Deflection on stand is just a "close" thing. See how it works on the snow. If sled creeps without brake on you are too tight. If it squeaks a bit when coming to stop it means you need to back off adjuster about 1/2turn or till squeaking goes away. If you must do it on stand just remove belt and set it in the secondary one side. should be a little bit above sheaves. Then go from there. The adjuster works so easy can easily be done in the yard or trail.

I worry about running the adjuster nut so far out. To get my belt high enough in the clutch I need to thread the nut out so far there is some thread showing.

Anyone else have this?

That is exactly like what mine is doing

I'm not really sure if this is a problem. Just doesn't seem right , you would think you would have all the thread holding on.
