View attachment 100343 View attachment 100344 Works great on Viper plenty of adjustment with 8dn or 8jp. Need heat to remove the screws but should be good to go with no machining and ulmers secondary spring.
Im not saying what you are doing is wrong, but i question why with all the clutching knowledge we have on this sight that this is just now being found/discussed.
I really hope you are on to something because i LOVE free fixes
On a side note, if you dont mind me asking, what are u running for a helix

I would say it's coming up now because until now there hasn't been a nice little tool/adjuster available to do such a thing. I can't wait to try it out, just waiting for mine to show up.Im not saying what you are doing is wrong, but i question why with all the clutching knowledge we have on this sight that this is just now being found/discussed.

Just wondering if you will be selling these at the snow show in novi. And what they will be selling for.
With the 8DN belt and the "no belt dust" clutching just how often will a guy be adjusting deflection?

Well I installed mine tonight. Took the 3 bolts out of the back of secondary slid clutch back on put the bolt through the OSP adjuster and tightened up with a drop of locktite and un screwed the lock nut adjuster out to the end till the belt is at the top and deflection looked about right. I started the motor and tapped throttle to just barely engage clutch than shut motor off kept turning adjuster nut and restart motor and repeating until I got the belt right.

FYI, Belt deflection adjusters have been around for many years. The OSP adjuster maintains "Float" which is a nice design feature.

Pardon me, you are correct but you don't hear many people talking about them being used on viper and the possibility of removing that plate to allow for more adjustment seems to be a new idea. Hopefully it all works out. I haven't received mine yet to confirm anything for myself but I'm looking forward to messing around with it. I'v already machined the clutch on one of my sleds but I'm interested is using it on my other one that's not going to be modified as much. Lol.FYI, Belt deflection adjusters have been around for many years. The OSP adjuster maintains "Float" which is a nice design feature.

That pic is my viper with a 8dn on there which has 1000 mi on it. It is set with no deflection and still has plenty of room for adjusting. I see no reason that 3000 mi or more can't be achieved with proper deflection and same belt. Still plan to try Gates,8jp and a Ultimax but no reason to remove secondary anymore to adjust for length differences in all 4 belts. That and the saving of machining pretty much pays for the adjuster.

I would say if picky every 1500 or so. We will see about 8jp. With stock and original Ulmer clutching 8jp needed it every 500 mi. That may change with Ulmers new non binding secondary spring. With the 8DN belt and the "no belt dust" clutching just how often will a guy be adjusting deflection?
