$300 oh well
What happened to this guy? Did he get paid off by Yamaha and rode of into the sunset on another brand never to be heard of again??
Braydene, at least update us on how it worked out or if it didn't.
A couple of years ago some Ski-doo 800 4 strokes burnt in Labrador and it was a big deal all over the media for awhile. I can't remember what the particular cause was or how it was resolved. But these issues are very serious and shouldn't happen.
Has Yamaha made any changes to later models to reduce the risk of fire on the Phazers? Does anyone know if that's a concern with the VL/MP models?
thanks,

i am under the impression that the majority of the fires where due to lack of maintenence and over fill gas tank. any sled can catch fire if the tank is overfilled. as long as you keep an eye and ear for exhaust noises on your sled you should be alright.
mods to your sleds can raise the rish depending what you do.
that is what i have gathered from all this.

I gave up on the thread about my sled, got lots of interest with over 18,500 views as of today... but i've moved on to BRP with a whole slew of new issues. Sure I don't have iced up tunnels or crappy skis anymore but my first ride of the season last week and now my sled is in for a rebuild with less than 2,000 miles (MXZ-X 800r)... crossing my fingers to have it back for the weekend.
Its sad to see others with burned up phazers, one thing I did learn from my experience is I now have insurance on my sled and I carry a 2lb fire extinguisher in my backpack
For the people who send me PM's about my fire etc i am reading your messages but there comes a time when regardless of how determined you are you just gotta throw in the towel and accept the fact. I have invested more than enough time into this cause and I have more important things to worry about than trying to recoup some losses on a burned sled.
Kudo's for fighting the fight, if there is ever a class action, sign me up, but I don't care to spearhead any sort of initiative on my own...

Sorry to hear about your bad luck - I guess they are all good when working. Nice to see though that you still keep an eye on TY!
