Hey Cubby, with the Blizzard now over you should be able to get some miles in now.
What area do you ride in?

Not yet. I had a "snow day" yesterday (couldn't see the house across the road with the blowing snow). Unfortunately I'm busy every night this week. I plan on hitting the Whiteshell Sunday. May take the daughter out for a ride around town (La Salle) Saturday. We just installed new carbides on the weekend and dying to see if they fix the darting. I shimmed the skiis and it helped but I hope new carbides will solve it too. The original ones were warn pretty good.

I have heard so many others talk about moving the spacers to widen the ski stance as well. But that seems backwards.

If you move the spacers to the inside, this moves the ski in, not out, right?

I am assuming you are talking about moving the spacer between the ski and the spindle. If all spacers are on the inside between the spindle and the saddle, then the ski is actually moved inward or to the inside of the spindle.

If put all spacers on the outside, then the spindle is actually off-center to the inside of the saddle thus moving the skis apart.

I may have to look at this.

This diagram draws out how the spacers fit in there. I could be wrong. Either way, I should try this fix.

Move the spacers to the outside, to force the skis to a wider stance, make sure you check the toe in/out after, and it really improves the ride.

There is one somewhere.But here is a pic of mine.Been running wide for a few years now.Yes the bushings in spindles do get more force on them and might wear more but it sounds as if they wear out either way.Hopefully UPBushman will have a fix for that soon.

If it is paid for keep it. I have one ride on mine this year. Snow sucks this year. I look at it this way... It won't get wore out sitting in my shop. That and they aren't worth anything to sell right now. You would take it in the shorts and kick yourself later.

I agree probably worst year in last 3 to sell a sled or even parts of a sled.Bad economy,Jobs and low snow.Many dealers have gone out of business and market is flooded with thier stuff.Keep it and if you cant get it to work for your trails then get something else.

I have never ridden your trails on sled but have on quad.They are fun as heck but no room at all for error.My advice would be to buy a cheap old race sled with big sturdy bumpers for the play rides dont pay more than $1500.I like the old trailing arm ProX's 5,6 or 700cc with Ryde FX shocks.Use the Phazer for longer rides and just take it easy in the tight stuff so you dont have trees jumping out at ya.Your Phazer is only worth about $3000 now and if you keep it and get a 1500 sled rebuild the shocks,bearings and such your into it $2000.$5000 in both and you should be set with care for a long time.
