Phazer Refresh

Hey cannondale would you have the part # for the 2014 AC SnoPro 600 wheels?

So AC uses CCC bearings huh? At least I can order new bearings with the wheels at my local AC dealer. I actually order a bunch of stuff from there since they're only 10 minutes away from me.

It cost $40 to machine the VL wheels, which is OK since I had them already from a defunct skid. I got raped though for the new 6006 bearings because none of the local dealers had any so I went to an industrial bearing shop and charged me $70 for two SKF bearings since I needed them yesterday. I did discover there another type of antiseize made for marine applications. Supposedly some mechanics use it in brakes instead of brake lube. It wasn't cheap neither ($40) for a large container but I'm giving it a go to see how it holds up in sleds.

At least now we have a better option for that upper idler. ;)!

Yes, definitely one for the FAQ.

I havent got a chance to look but like said 2014 AC SnoPro 600.

Yup Mooseman Chinese bearings in the best skid AC has ever made and yes they have been a failure point for this particular racer. Looks like I will need to inspect the Viper for contamination!

So finally got a chance to get over to my buddies garage and lathe out the bearing from the idler wheel. Here's the set up to hold the idler.

This next picture is the bit sharpened to a tip to cut the groove into the idler wheel after the bearing is removed. Sorry for the fuzzy picture.

Start heading north and bring your idlers, an easy 6 hour drive. The beers are in the fridge. ;)!

I would love to do that! Got snow yet? I have most chores and commitments done so will be spending the weekend in my shop finishing up the Phazer. rear suspension and drive bearings along with chaincase inspection are next. Still no Viper so got to get Phazer done just in case Viper doesnt keep up with the Phazer.

We have about a foot and a half but the lakes are still not frozen. Up here 50% of the land is covered by water so not much riding util the lakes harden up. Safe ice is usually not until after Christmas.

You getting the new Viper? I checked one over at dealer, nice sled but I just don't trust Arctic Cat. They had nothing but problems with the Pro chassis from blowing belts, broken jackshaft and broken chaincases. I heard they added a fan to try and keep the heat down on the clutches. Lots of guys in the area had more downtime then riding time.

I am holding out for the in between the Phazer and Viper sled. I have my fingers crossed that its announced this year.

Even though the Hiems wouldn't work for replacing our outer tierod ends the boots I got work great. Filled them with grease so we will see how long the stock Yamaha ends last. The boots were a bugger to get on but a little grease and putting the joint in vice to hold it worked well and no rips. Real happy with these.

Which boots did you get? The ebay link shows 75 different ones. Id like to order these when I order my dog bone parts. Thanks!

Had to fix up all the exhaust shields. Took some time. I put silicone under the repair to lessen vibration. I find this really helps keep rivets tight. Shouldnt get hot enough to burn it anyway. All those little pieces are what were broke off of it. You know as much as I like the rear exhaust systems on Yamahas I wont really miss it on the Viper.

At least all those old heat shields I spent a small fortune on over the years make good material to work with! Whats left went into the Aluminum can bin. And they say we arent Green.

I sandwiched the exhaust pipe mount, shield and subframe front and back.
