Hi guys looking for some help. I have a 07 mountain lite with about 1500km. I have noticed that the steering has been getting progressively sloppy. I went through most of the parts and it seems like every part has a some play. I lubricated every thing, reset my toe out and will live with it for the rest of the season. But i am wondering what my best coarse of action is for a permanent repair.

I am thinking at a minimum to replace the a arm bushings, splindle bushings, and the steering linkage bushings. Does anyone make a rebuild kit or should i go with oem parts? The yamaha parts sure didnt last long.

As well is there a better ball joint to use? Perhaps something that is greasable.

Thanks!

All your questions are answered in the Sticky/FAQ in the Phazer general section. Just go to the handling section. Ignore the ones on the balljoint upgrade as they have been discontinued.

Phazer Frequently Asked Questions

For the lower balljoints, Yamaha did issue a couple of updates. The current one available for the Phazer was updated from the original. They also issued a newer balljoint for the Nytro but for whatever reason didn't use it for the Phazer.

My '07 had the same problem. The nut that holds the bell crank might have backed off. Pull the upper right side cover off and look inside and you should be able to see it.
