Pilot 6.9 ski's installed

Thanks Don. I only raced one 850 and the traction was poor. He got me out of the hole by around 2-3 lengths but I reeled him in and by about 1000 ft I was pulling away easily. Whats with the belts blowing? should I be concerned?
They SNAP, in half.....I just got Toms Geared now with 22 top which will help keep it from OD so deep, on a tuned sled like Toms is now it can gear out FAST it pulls so hard. I already machined the spring pocket too, so no coil bind caused this. Don's was shimmed I believe so coil bind blowing belts is not what happened for mine or his.

We might run 8dn now as its longer, for trail riding in general as I think it has less chance to snap being longer, and then use the 8jp when we are radar running. Tom did tow his viper for 30+ miles so that surely contributed to the short belt life id say. Only 750 miles on Toms sled so far.

I should be putting some miles on it this weekend on trail finally...I have not had any trail time with it yet, so it will be nice If I can get the clutching dialed in to make it more snappy on trail(corner to corner) like my 1200 is. As of now it still has a slight lag at first whack, which makes it feel laggy on trail.

Ran my BTX LE with 6.9 pilots 6in shapers and 4in round bars and man this thing rails rode every snow condition from hard pack froze trail in the morning to loose fresh snow and ran off trail they are a great all around ski! I also cut my track down to 1.75 and it launches off the line now!

I'm going to go this route has anyone found any deals on the skis carbides loops or anything? Or is ebay the cheapest?

When I researched it eBay was the best price

I'm liking all these reviews about the 6.9 pilot skis I have yet to try them out since I installed them.

Amazon had mine 209$ us for pair plus loops and carbides I went to my yami/doo dealer for those

dootalk classifieds many times has lots of used items, but for new Leaders on ebay seems to be the king of 6.9 sales and no tax/free ship makes it cheaper then my local dealer discount.

Up here in Canada things are always more, as we all know....Why I try to buy all my stuff in fall before I come north for winter.

Dan

Pilots are on. Pleasantly surprised at the appearance. They come as advertised..... they work well! I think for the guys wanting more aggressive bite should consider shapers on these. I wish i had gone with them. Thanks Rockerdan!

Looks great! Do you by chance have a part number for the white loops?
