Pilot 6.9 ski's installed

Just wondering if the blue loops are even close to the bright Yamie blue color or are they kinda dull?
that is a good question, Doo offers several loop colors.....

I took a screenshot for you guys looking into handle colors, only see one blue though.

I do see 3 reds though, not sure which is best for red LE models.

For those interested, you can use Yamaha loops on your pilots....just need to take a little off the mounting surface using a grinderView attachment 125600 View attachment 125600
Yes I forgot to mention I did this with Yam handles on my neighbors older nytro we added the pilots to back in 06. We had to grind down the width of the area where they bolt on, to fit. So they are not able to go back to the YAM ski after. But this can save 60 bucks or so when re-using the yam handles.

Ummmm, Dan? Do we need to have an intervention here? Because it looks a lot like you're hooked on Sidewinder!
We all see the signs...... First it was a little interest. Then it was a couple questions. Now we see the frequency of posts increasing!
Then just a little ride.... some tinkering on a friends winder. And then.....
BOOM! OUT COMES THE CHECKBOOK!
LOL! Sorry I just had to!

It started last spring when CR was posting all the initial info.....I remember I started a thread on DT about the SW and was posting just about everything CR was posting....to the dismay of some DT members....lol

Knowing yammie now had their hands on the new turbo and their engineers were working their magic on what I knew as a real POS(2012) as just about anyone who owned a 2012 knew. To see a reverse mounted, yam triple solely designed from ground up, was impossible not to be excited about. But I surely was going to wait at least to see them on the snow and how they worked. And, well yep they seem to be the real deal, at least fixing all the issues I had with my 12.

Also a few other things happened.....I got my 1200 dialed in to where I feel its about the best it can be NA, and while i love the 4tec for ride quality and lightweight trail feel, without a turbo kit it will never run into the 120 zone. Miss the speeds for sure.

Then out of the blue Old bud Tom after several yrs of not seeing him, tells me he bought one and that first ride with the big power on Seguin trail was really impressive. I mentioned the quirks, and told him I would gladly dial it in with some skis and setup, and that was it. Also after riding an 850 after reading they are really fast, i felt like I knew I wanted the SW, as the 850 felt slower then my modded 1200.

So at this point im just gathering info to mod Toms sled, but it will help me decide what I want to do on mine come 18 "IF" I move back over to TY...LOL. I think Ive been on DT for so long it will be a nice change of pace.

Old Handle..................................New Tuner Handle.

I was wondering that and almost asked! Good deal.

Dan is correct. The older single keel Yamaha ski handles would work with a little grinding but I do not believe the new tuner ski handles will work. Not without major mods and drilling.
Front of handle bolts differently.

Bet that would look real nice with a low CAT window in white! Yeah i know its cold.lol

Dan

Yes Dan.
White low window would look sweet. But you know me I'm not just burning down a lake a few miles at a time. I need some warmth when riding at warp speed 300-500 miles per day. LOL.
That's why I have added this quick release extension window.
