Pilot 6.9 ski's installed

Hey Dan I can push my buddies 850 through the trail. Rode both and confident the SW is just as fast through the trail with more power

If you're down this way I'm still willing to trade for a rip.

Recently put some slim jims on my c&a skis. Much easier steering with no darting but I'm sure it won't rail when I push it.

Taylorj is a good friend. He'll probably bring his 850 for shits and giggles

Scotty I was looking for ya....we saw so many old faces there thought for sure you two might be there.

Norm has been needling me to go with Martin's Precision motec 1 stock compression setup on my 4tec. He just is gaga over his new XS setup that Brian built. It is the real deal and VERY fast!

At that point of 9500ca dollars, you are married to that sled IMO (unless you just wipe arse with 100s like some spoiled kids online) and will have to keep that sled for some time. Its not a bad investment but surely a steep one. ZERO warranty and lots of tinkering likely.

With SW i can trade mine in for MUCH LESS and have a new sled, with warranty(maybe even 5 yr) and then have a base sled to either run stock, or tweak up each season to make it more fun. I actually like the quiet stock SW alot, its not like my 12 cat that NEEDED a muffler to wake it up, this stock SW is a blast. Just seems to make the most sense.

The demos were a blast, Dano loved the SW too, we rode many versions! I posted pics in Ontario section of DT.

Toms lets everyone try his SW , so lets meet up for a ride sometime and try it! Also we can see how our 1200s work against eachothers....lol

Dan

i figured i would have 15k canadian into a Martin deal, his setup, primary clutch, gearing, exhaust and the list goes on, i'm sure it would be a weapon but the cash outlay between the sled and kit is nuts, lol
yes we will have to hook up, i'd like to look that SW over

Just to be clear, I did want to give the 850 its full recognition, as so many guys were raving about it. But after some time on the 850 sunday evening, I walked away with very little i liked about it. It was no faster then my 1200(modded of course) and reminded me far too much of my etec(which blew up).

I did not dare go back into that thread in the 850 forum and post that I did not like it. I seem to have too many internet trolls following me around already thinking they know better for me then I do.

The SW has had me thinking about the hard top end pull for a week now, and the demo rides proved even more to me that I could live with one as a trail sled and not just a lake racer. So im no longer torn on what direction I want to go as I look forward to my next ride.

I love my 1200 in every way, now with the mods and clutching dialed it even is stronger then 800s down bottom...and running same GPS speeds as my etec8 did with ease. But it will never run 120, nor did my etec nor will a 850 IMO. So SW is "whats next" for me. (Doos "whats next is what matters" 2017 sales campaign --- Does not apply to guys who want to run big speeds, that's what matters to me) LOL

Dan
Hi Dan,my son bought the LTX-SE sense he did not snow check like I did. Well last weekend up in rangley area,in western maine,he and friend were doing a quick 100 or so miles,as he was starting to get the flu and needed to get home and in bed lol shits going around bad, anyways,he now has just 300 miles on it,and it has no bad rollers, hits 8700 rpms every time you smash the handle, and rides and handles very nice,so he hit 123 mph than 122 another time and he said it flashed 125 once,i said that's very good, considering its bone except 144 studs, and I told him the speedos are only off 4 mph past 100,so he is happy, and I am to,its his first new sled, and he is now 48 lol.so some of the bone stock SE,s are trucking,oh ya snow was very hard..

Hey bud, thanks again for the offer, much apprec!

Im pretty sure Don put slimjims on his C&a setup to tame them a tad, id love to see how that feels...But ive been running pilots on every sled ive owned since 06, apex and cat and doos, and am good at dialing them in....lol

Not sure if you read, but my bud here has a new LE Ive been riding and tweaking abit for him. Still not studded so hoping they get to it soon. I would have studded it for Tom myself but I was studding my 4tec yesterday and then radar running here. I wished his was studded and here with me radaring to see what a STOCKER can do, especially compared to my 4tec now as Id love a direct comparison.

I think after the short ride I had on other buds 850 Sunday, it sure feels like my 4tec as setup now will put a hurtin on the 850,but will have to wait and see....even if its close then I will have made the 1200 come a long way from 103gps last season. Nice sled for sure, but i now have turbo fever back again, and worse then 2012! lol

Im still hoping to hook up with Taylor if winter kicks in better with some GREEN trail conditions, and ride over to LSP and hang out with him on his track, and likely stay overnight as Huntsville is a good days ride or so to LSP. Would be cool if buddy with SW here came with me, and who knows maybe Ill have a new SW by then? lol

Scotty, on the Sunday they had the same power tour yammie SEMI truck at the Seguin trail, down at LICKS burgers, Parry Sound, that yammie dealer gordon bay marine i believe.

We nearly went sunday again ..lol

I was worried about SE shocks, but the front end still works well with the fox RC shocks up front(non ressie) I would love to get the center and rear shock setup off the LE models though, then id have no prob buying an SE.

I really liked the window on the SE too....

Well me and Taylor are neighbors on the lake and we trade duties keeping a track maintained.

Anyway, maybe see ya around this year. B great to hook up on the trail!!

Spent last night installing my newly arrived 6.9 Pilots following RockerDan's instructions to the T. Even ham fisted me did a good job! Thank you Dan. They look great too. The wider profile fits the sled better than those skinny #*$&@ Tuners. Now we head off in search of snow for 4 days. Looking forward to feeling a difference. Total cash outlay was 600 dollars including 2 sets of carbides, loops, hardware and taxes... Better than the grand buying and setting up Curves here in Canada. Again I cannot say enough about Dan..his contributions here go above and beyond!:sled1::):letsnow:

Your gonna love it and Kudos to Dan for the awesome instructions.

One quick thing I totally forgot to mention...

With heavy steering, be sure to check your effort with weight off nose too. The clamp/bushing system on the procross that bolts the top of the steering post to the frame, can be over tightened from factory. I noticed this when checking entire sled over for Tom, that when front was on the lift, the steering seemed to be binding some. I just backed off the two nylock nuts on that upper post clamp and it fixed it right up. Not sure if dealer tightened his too far or factory? But typically those upper post bushings wont over tighten the pressure on the post no matter how tight you crank nuts, but in this case if you tighten those nuts abit too tight the steering starts to bind up.

Just something to check over guys.

Goodies just showed up

Interesting, will check that.

Got mine today just waiting on loops and carbides should have them tomorrow. I also had the tight steering shaft issue!
