What is the new total price of the Turbo now? Last year was $2200 plus you had to give up 2 years warranty.

I have 3 years and paid 3k for turbo plus 600 for install. They have just paid for my install. Awesome. I guess not enough guys ordered turbos. Sucks to be them.

I'm sure that was part of it, but I'd also bet supply and demand is finding a balance. It seamed for awhile, MPI couldn't keep up with demand as they were sending everything to Yamaha and only trickling some to the the aftermarket.

Actually last year if you SPS sled ordered with turbo, you got it all if buying the 5 year from the start. We have two 2015 vipers with MPI's and a 5 year warranty, nothing was lost. Reason was, the sleds were build/shipped/ paid for with the 5 year warranty before the turbos were ready in late fall. Yamaha didn't really have a system of taking away warranty with the turbo deal last year but I am guessing they do this year. I checked on my warranty about a month ago to see if it changed yet and its still October 2019. My dealer said most of the SPS 2015s will keep what ever warranty (2,3,4,5 year) that sled was originally order with at that time. I am curious what the new price is to ?

I did the SPS with my RTX LE last year and my dealership told me I had to give up 2 years of the 3 year warranty they give to the SPS guy's for the price of $2200 for the Turbo. When I SPS my sled I spent an extra $200 to extend my 3 years to 5. My dealership said I could purchase more years of warranty for a couple hundread more $. So is my dealership incorrect?Actually last year if you SPS sled order with turbo, you got it all. We have two 2015 vipers with MPI's and a 5 year warranty, nothing was lost.

I would check your warranty first with Yamaha directly before you buy 3 more years. I was like you and was going to buy 3 more years after the turbo to get back to 5 years but then found out that we didn't need to on either sled.

That's a great deal!! back when we did ours It was astronomical $ and the warranty was iffy at best! And all we got extra was the intercooler.

I have a thought on why my dealership told me about losing the 2 years, because I didn't have a Yamaha Dealership install my Turbo. I had Allen Ulmer install it. Or does that not matter?I would check your warranty first with Yamaha directly before you buy 3 more years. I was like you and was going to buy 3 more years after the turbo to get back to 5 years but then found out that we didn't need to on either sled.

That does not matter. We installed our own turbos and we are not a dealer. Yamaha recommended that you used your dealer to install them but they didn't force the issue so anyone could do it. My dealer did install other mpi kits on 2015 sleds and he said those retained the 5 year warranty also.

I just spoke to corporate Yamaha regarding my warranty. After opting for the Turbo I did lose 2 years of my warranty. I inquired about the additional 2 years I had originally purchased to make it a 5 year. They had no record of it. I'm guessing when I enrolled for the Turbo the extra $200 I spent for the 4th and 5th year was not enough money to extend the warranty. I now have to got to my dealership to get this straightened out. That does not matter. We installed our own turbos and we are not a dealer. Yamaha recommended that you used your dealer to install them but they didn't force the issue so anyone could do it. My dealer did install other mpi kits on 2015 sleds and he said those retained the 5 year warranty also.

Spring ordered a 2016 no turbo and I just got a letter from Yamaha saying that I can upgrade to a turbo kit for $2400. No mention of how the warranty situation changes. Getting me thinking that it's worth it now for that price.
Convince me that its a need vs. a want!
