Pro Rmk front on Nytro...

Still no sidepanels but i have bought the missing parts from the reverse (some gears, bolts, shims) and also the reverse lever with plastic and cooling hoses with thermostat housing.

Picked up the side panels on my lunch break and did a quick duct tape mock up.

A good explanation of how the ASA shock works (from their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/ASA-Suspension-AB/137753293083108) I did a Quick translation with Google translate.

ASA system's principle:
Nitrogen spring protected by rubber membrane so it can not be mixed with oil. Pressure can be adjusted so you always have the correct spring without changing parts. The nitrogen spring never fades, it weighs nothing, but gives the absolute best performance in comfort and isolation from the terrain .

Damping in the return phase only, the oil flowing laminar between piston and cylinder inner mantle controlled by piston speed through the oil that automatically sets the column in the "moderate" position - ASA patent - so it Always has the correct damping force. No set screws, clicks, controls are needed.
With laminar flow the oil is not cut off or forced in the same way as the competitors.
Thanks to the high internal pressure, no water or other foreign objects get into the shock absorber.

Translation to the pic. Gasbehållare = nitrogen container, Olja = Oil, Gummimembran = Rubber Membrane, Stålkona = Steel cone, Plastkona = Plastic cone.

Started to mount the lower plastic.
Borrowed a secondary clutch from a friend to see the clearance.

Sidepanel closed

Fastener on the right side.

had to grind a bit on the plastic.
I will probably replace the torx bolt with a Dzus because i have to remove it and bend the plastic a bit to be able to remove the belt and i dont want to bring a torx tool to able to change belt.
I had to mount this fastener pretty far out to the side to be able to remove the clutch. (you can see my first try closer to the clutch, i used a soldering iron to fill up the hole)

its Close.

It's too bad Yamaha didn't use the reversible head feature like with the Weber 750 motor. I'm not saying the Weber is in any way equivalent, just that it's a really cool design feature. The Viper wouldn't have needed the u-shaped exhaust and guys building sleds would have a much easier time. Plus a reversible head would have allowed Cat & Yamaha more options for future chassis designs.

Exhaust will be either a tunneldump or routed to the side with a muffler.
Made some upper hood mounts and tacked them into place yesterday, pictures later.

So many details to work out on this one ... I still want to know how you're going to get the Nytro fuel pump into that Rev tank. If that's not possible, will you use a different tank or fab an externally mounted pump?

I will probably use an external fuel pump with multiple pickups, the nytro pump would have to be modified and multiple pickups added to it due to the large footprint of the Rev tank.
There might be an Engine in the near future..... will know tomorrow...

Long time since i posted but i have added some parts to the build.

Im going to make a "Quick pin kit" to be able to remove the hood without Tools.

Push buttons will be used instead of the plastic rivets on the side.

A friend turned som aluminum parts on the lathe, its for the hood and gas tank and i got som rubber stuff for the gas tank.

Also hade some aluminum plates made for the rear section of the tunnel.

A Yamaha dealer donated the front reinforcements for the tunnel, its from a shortie so i will have to add some material to the rear to reach the MTX front hole.

aluminum tubes to the cooling hoses.

Dzus plate and some bolts for the tie rod boot.

My dad keept his spare belts (one new and one used) when sold his two Yamaha sleds and its the same as the Nytro so he gave them to me.

And when i was up north i visited ASA suspension in their brand new shop.

Parts for shocks.

A set of Heavy duty and a set of standard shocks.

They let me disassemble and assemble a pair of shocks that they are trying out on a car and the thing that striked me was the clean oil after so long in use.
its a really simple and clever construction and i am really curious to try them out.

My Engine with primary and secondary clutch, oiltank, all electrical Components has arrived and i will pick it up on Monday ;)!

SD:

Are you planning on weighing the engine bare? I've heard they way around 60 kg's without intake/header/etc.

Nytro Engine Weight

So if its 120lbs and an etec 600 is at 100, sorta blows the theory of a 4 stroke adding 50lbs.

And a modded NA Nytro @ 150hp could easily be compared to a liberty 800 or etec 800 as a fair game.

What are down to then???

OTM
