Here's the scoop. We raced a bunch of times. I never beat it, never. However when we raced rider weight being equal it only beat me by 1
sled length and we went over
2000 feet. With a lighter guy on the etec it would walk my by 3 to 4 in the same distance.
Now in fairness this etec is brand new. So it will get a little faster. But not much faster. We'lll see soon

Nice work dirk....how close was it off the line...did he just pull you slightly on the top or did he get you out of the hole and stick there?

Sounds good, but it looks like your RTX isnt exactly stock.... Still NICE tho!!

I also raced two 800 etec xrs's. Stock to stock I was beating them out of the hole and still pulling away about 400 feet then they would catch me in the top end and beat me by a sled length. It was fun to see the look on their faces when a 130 hp machine did that well against a 160 hp machine. These things are torque monsters!!

The best thing is we can mod our motor with lots of simple options, and the motor responds well.

hmmm , well , its my sled ,heres the total disclosure...
I ran dirks brother (he's 250 and Im 215) and I was at least 6 sled lengths by the time I hit 100
trust me , the nytro does not run with the etec...period...no stock nytro will run with it setup apples to apples..i.e. studs..etc
dirks nytro would be on the fast side of modded non boost nytro's and is well broken in...
so, a well broken in nytro with about $2000 worth of mods can sniff the bumper of the etec ...some of the time...on a etec in break in mode with less than 100 miles on it..(even weight to even weight...maybe 3 lengths?)
let it hit break in mode "off" and let me add the same money in mods and even a well tuned apex might need a rope and hook to hang on...this sled is very fast for a brand new and tight sled
oh and btw after the ride....we noticed the belt deflection was set incorrectly...raised the belt..then almost threw me off on a launch!
in the trails rider to rider of equal skill...nytro cant hang...period ..
this said...I still consider myself a yamaha man...wish they'd "bring it" so I wouldnt have to stray!

oh ,incidentally , it hit 119 on the dreameter with 90 miles on the ticker and in case anyone is wondering the transfer blocks werent set at max transfer ( #2 )

SJ, what happend to or where did the turbo nytro go?

We towed my buddies 800 home last night. Burned down second ride of the year.
