Racewerx Quick Adjust Coupler Block

Yes it has "detents' that assure it locks into position. I ran it for one season before I removed to replace tri Hub with oversize wheel (and it no longer had clearance. Cant remember the price but I'll sell you mine for 50% off retail if you want to give it a shot.
 
The coupler block of any sort do just as name implies. When rear of skid is compressed the blocks engage rear scissor forcing skid up at front. This keeps skid on snow and can help traction. It also can help rear from bottoming since front skid shock is assisting rear when coupled. The gap between blocks and scissor is what adjust the point where above starts to occur. Personal preference on adjustment or whether to use it at all.

Yes big gap for powder small gap for fast trails
 
Excellent product BTW.
Position 1-2 for more flotation.
Position 3-4-5 are used for normal trail use.
Position 6 gives it that extra coupling for those really hardpacked conditions.
Best add on for that skid.
If you happen to wear out the rod and detents, the owner will supply you with new ones if you contact him directly.
 
Anybody try adding this to a uncoupled 141? I wanted to buy a 137/coupled after selling my XTX SE but got a deal on a STX DX (141) so I'd like to get the trail riding comfort by adding coupling if it is possible...
