Have any of you guys tried an oil cooler on any of your sleds? I put them on our quads all the time and it helps a lot but I have never done it on a sled. You typically add 1/2 to 3/4 qt. oil volume as well as the cooling from the exchanger.
There is plenty of room for a pancake adapter at the filter location, just need to figure out the plumbing and exchanger type to use.

Radiator delete worked so well the hassle of installing an oil cooler doesn't seem on option to me.

The fitting is for my additional water temp gauge, you probably don't need that. I used copper tube for a little extra cooling (painted it for aesthetics). Nothing is changed from original as I wanted to be able to put the radiator back quick if needed.

Awesome! thank you, with the air box gone and a set of K&N filters the "free space" under the hood might double and help with hot air being pushed out the vents

UPDATE: 3 days of temps above freezing and marginal snow and I couldn't be happier with the radiator delete. Had to run the ice scratchers down when on the hard pack but fine in the snow. Ran 160 to low 200's as did the other two Vipers on the same days.

what did you do to your hood to prevent the snow from coming in? just a big piece of frog skin?

Yes, if you look you can take apart a couple layers of plastic and sandwich frogskin in there. I actually used water proof filter material so I can keep water out.

um, why dont you guys look back to the old vipers and SRX's? they had no radiator but a 142hp triple to cool, did just fine with the front heat exchanger and the 2 running board coolers. think the srx had a rear exchanger too, while the viper did not.
those were the days! nice toasty running boards on the SRX!! (my only fond memory of the backbreaker)
I was going to put the rear SRX cooler in my nytro to stop icing but the undertunnel exhaust warmed things up enough.

I expected to have issues but was stunned at how well the radiator delete worked. No more sauna under the hood.
