Remove the OEM top clamps

These are the 1 inch risers

Drill out the bar guide nipple as it will interfere with the new risers

Place the new risers on top of the OEM riser

Put the bars in place and install the OEM top clamps with 1 inch longer bolts. Longer bolts can be purchased from Mcmaster. http://www.mcmaster.com/

Torque the bolts to 16 LB FT. Do the front bolts first

I removed the OEM cable guide to allow extra room for the cables

Install the bar pad

Now you have a additional inch of rise which makes a big difference riding while standing up.

As this company is not a supporting vendor PM me for more info.
Risers cost $38.80 shipped. This a riser for a 7/8" bar.

Thats awesome, how about 2", or more? I just stopped by dealer and priced out Apex Mountain risers-$98, +$6 for each bolt(longer). I would like to install on my RTX- I am 6' 3" and need tall bars in order to stand and bang over jumps. It sounds like a lot of rise, but that is what I think would be best-I think it will be fine going down trail and sitting as well. Has anyone else thought about doing this or done this? The only problem may be the brake line- Apex mountain(longer) brake line is $49.

How does that interfeir with the vision of the dash when sitting down? Right now on my RTX, I can just see over the pad clearly. I'm 6'-1", I don't always ride all the way forward.

The risers take away an inch of view of the guauges. But as I ride forward I can still see the guages clearly. Not an issue. Well worth the trade off.

Currently they are only available in one inch. However, I spoke with the guy who makes them and he seemed really interested in a new market as these are for dirt bikes. Same bar size so I thought I'd give it a try. Works great. I'll send him this info and see if he would be interested in a 2 inch.
The downside is you may start running into problems with needing longer cables and hoses.

those are the longest bolts available from mcmaster carr.

iv'e had custom metric bolts made for me in the past, they were expensive.

if you want more than 1" i'd go with a pivoting base and riser.

i added my 1" at the bottom with a solid piece of 1" alu i drilled holes in.

I can't find 7 inch bolts to raise my ATTAK handlebars... In metric that is... where can I get some... I got a power madd 1 inch raiser but it will only fit on the bottom....

I bought the mountain riser bar and bolts from Port Yamaha $90 somehting shipped... SHould arrive today. If the bar is too tall I plan on cutting it down about an inch.

I bought some mounting bolts for my Yamaha Mountain skis from Bolt Depot.com. http://www.boltdepot.com/metric-hex-bolts.aspx

The longer bolts were back-ordered from Yamaha. They shipped them out the same day. Shipping is high, but you can buy just 2 bolts if you want and they have many sizes. Most places won't let you order just a couple bolts, they make you order by the box.

I just heard from the manufacturer regarding a 2"riser and this is what he said:

"I'm checking out the practicality of making the 2" risers and finding 8" bolts for them. Seem inevitable that we'll run out of cables/lines"

So, well wait and see.

What size are these bolts? 10mm? The place I just posted about, bolt depot, has 200mm long (7 7/8") bolts in 10mm and 12mm.

The OEM 6" bolts I removed with a 12MM wrench. The 7" bolts from Mcmaster had a 13MM hex head on them but the shaft diameter is the same as is the pitch. I would check with your local Yamaha dealer as to what the exact size is. A friend send me the bolts so I did not get to see the exact size.

they are m8 x 1.25 thread size. and I just checked at my bolt guy here he said if you cant find bolts use redi-rod and some acorn nuts on top.MAKE SURE YOU GET A GOOD GRADE BOLT AS THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT. and fyi metric bolts use a differant grading system a 10.8 grade metric is the same as a grade 5 bolt and a 12.8 grade metric is same as grade 8
