I have taken mine off and installed a few times now and it always comes off the taper super easy. I barely have to put a socket to the puller and its off. I don't ever remember having a primary come off this easy. Normal or something I should be looking at? I was going to put some Dykem on the shaft and check the fit between the 2 tapers.

Have had mine off more than once. My tool works nice but it still takes some torque to pop it off. Much like all of my past Yamaha clutches.
You are torquing the bolt once the clutch is back on ?
I would check for a problem. Cracked clutch taper, clutch back hitting on engine or something, stopping it from pulling in ?

Torqued to 108ft/lbs, then loosen and retorqued to 45.

Sounds correct.
If you pop them off once or twice per season, then when wanted they do come off easier. But still need to put some torque to the tool.

A good way to insure proper seating is to warm the hub of the clutch slightly, 30-40 degrees before putting it back on. When it cools it contracts slightly and seats better.

Mine comes off easy also, first time it had that familiar "pop" but subsequent removals go easy. Also, torque to 108, then 45. Seems to seat same to seat same every time, you can see motor move getting that last little bit of torque to hit 108.

Mine has always come off with the hard pop and a breaker bar. 108 is FU#&*^# nuts to me, but I go with it
