i havent ridden an apex yet, but i would hope it would be faster than 105-108 true speeds ,that seems a little low to me, i had my tripple piped viper hitting 118 on gps. and ive ridden with stock rx-1"s that were pretty much even with me, even thoughit was in different conditions than when i hit 118..

Wow some of you guys are funny, the guys that owned the sled stated the facts and you guys go quoting all kinds of other stuff, all that was stated was both sleds all stock, read stock show room stock ok,i know that an 05 all stock machz could be beat,if the twin did not run him 3 miles, now these guys did not run 2 miles and dont forget the gade is running 16 wide 136 1.25 track to the 15x121 weight i would split it,should be about the same, full of all fluids, now allen dynoed the apex stock at the track to be 80hp and someone over on dootalk did stock machzs at between 80-85 so if they have comparable hp to the track,it should be no suprise if they get beat by an apex,if the guy clutches and does other things it will or could be different, now the 120+ gps mph over on hcs was on ice,and dont forget the machz speedo if off almost as bad as the yammis at least the 05 mach was readings of 127 were 119 or so i have two friends who have 05s one modded more than the next one,but neither one bone stock.

Just for the record. I had a 2003 RX1 that did on the best day 109 GPS on hard pack. So that's where I get my numbers for the RX1. I have heard guys say they got 115+ but that's on glare ice or road. I am talking trail.
Point taken on the 16" track. I had both an 04 REV 800HO and a 05 REV HO....both Gades. The 15" track was about 7MPH faster than the 16" track. The 04 Gade 800HO SMOKED my bud's 2003 RX1. The MachZ is a FAST sled....period.
Have you seen this video....pretty good.

wolfie said:These F7 guys crack me up. They have the worst case of "small man" syndrome I've ever seen. No one is saying they're not fast, but alot of these guys act like the sled is invincible. I have every confidence that the Apex will suck up an F7 pretty handily, all things being equal. The Mach Z will still have an advantage over both. I was playing on the lake last winter with some guys up in Maine. There was a really strong running F7 Sno Pro, with all kinds of mods done to it. Shaved heads, ported, Vforce, fuel regulator, lowered chassis, speed track, etc, and all he could get was 122, and that was only in perfect conditions. The notion of a stock F7 hitting 124 is just silly.
Wolfie you took the words right out of my mouth..
No ones is saying the F7 isnt fast (its by far the fastest 700 out) but the F7 is no longer the sled to beat.... Now its the ZR900, Fusion 900 and MACH Z! Some maybe quicker in short distance but only the big dogs run the big numbers!
The tread i posted clearly states that the engines are all STOCK... but have finely tuned CLUTCHING!
If feel the numbers are a tade high.. and i know none of them would actually see those numbers on a trail with stock clutching!
I havent read any posts where the mach was only 80hp at the track! (that would mean they are loosing 90hp threw the clutches!
The highest numbers ive ever heard of on a stock CLUTHCED RX-1 is 121mph on this site! (but thats on glare ice)

Dont say the F7s arnt fast. Alaskin 200 race , F7 took 2 place Stock motor except for exhaust porting. 3 degree key, clutched , geared and vented air box. Rider was 250 lbs. All this is on . record for 2 years ago. He averaged 127 mph. He was some like 2 minutes out of first place. He blew a belt in the last 1/2 hour or some thing like that. I believe he was beaten by a moded triple piped viper. If I remember both sleds were built by the same dealer for 2 different racers.

Thats far from Stock.. LOL
How could he average 127mph?? he would have to go like 140+mph and not hit any bumps!

When its not bored ,and intake is not ported and heads not shaved, useing stock pipes its about as stock as u can get. Timing advance is still consideded stock, Vented air box is ok . Clutch changes are allowed to run stock class, Only real change was cleaned up exhaust. Viper had triple pipes added + clutching ect, ect. These sled are geared for 150 to 155 if follow the race you will not beleave the speeds they are clocked at.

112.41mph is the fastest average speed i see listed there!!(2005) Thats a far cry from 127 mph.. and way more believable! and that was the OPEN class!
P.S. how do you know anything isnt moddified..? Were you there when they built the engine? People cheat at racing all the time!

Welterracer, I was doughtful like you also. I called Alaskia and even had a paper sent to me. I called the resort where the prizes were handed out to confirm these speeds. In fact we were invited to come to the next race which was last year and the resort owner said he would put mom and me up for free. He was from Rice lake Wisc, If I still have the paper I will post the artical. All of the big modded sleds didnt finish the race. To run wide open for that long of a time they try to keep as close to stock as possible. Like I said viper that won , was piped not bored .
