I think the gold color cad plated rivet nuts are best suited for this. S.S. reacts badly with steel and causes the steel to rust quickly as does aluminum. Dissimilar metals cause a galvanic reaction. Especially if you through salt in the mix.

Great thread. Didn't know it existed. I've been emailing rockerdan for help. Just curious what tool you guys have used for the rivnuts. A lot of the write ups on the net don't speak highly of many of the tools. Also seen a few videos on home made tool you can make with bolt nut couple washers and a coupling nut. No doubt I'm doing this but will be using stainless steel rivnuts for sure. Just gotta find a nice screw with big head

Point us to a link got them if u can. Did u get them in different lengths to accommodate the thicker material in areas like Dan mentioned?

Hi that’s a great question—-> It was a bit tricky around the shock. It worked though, I had to remove the nut on upper shock post. Other than that it worked great
Highly recommend doing it
Alternative to rivnuts. Not sure how this will stand up, but after drilling out the rivets I used a 1/4”-28 tap on the holes except for the 2 by the footwell.

Steve barn of parts sells them to,in packs of 10 but I cant seem to find them on his site now that I need them,i wonder if the poo poo rivets are same size?Polaris Razor push pins...
