I'm curious to see what my fellow RTX brothers are going to do with their windshields since it appears as though there isn't going to be a mid-height with red-chrome. I'm going to give it a whirl with the stocker and see if I'm going to be too cold or not. I love the red chrome, and would hate to give it up. Perhaps the mid height with regular chrome would look OK. If anyone has an RTX with a different shield please post pictures.

wanna but a stock attak sheild, i have one as i swapped to a rtx sheild, im in lewiston

O.K. Vice you and I are on the same page. If there is no mid-hgt. red chrome to be offered I'm thinking of the mid hieght black with chrome strobes. Sledder Steve has pics of on the photo site. I would modify it this way. Above the chrome strobes I would paint it the candy red metallic I did my vents and hand guards. I'd carry the red almost to the top of the shield and leave about 3/8" black.

On the US Yamaha site they have a low blue chrome shield, it is not the same as the stocker as it has a higher centre with a lip..perhaps their new version of a mid height? I ordered one from Bob Weaver mtrsptrs, its in but have yet to pick it up. The site only shows a blue chrome but the dealer tells me they do offer a red chrome item#SMA-8FT96-10-RC

i am going to give the stock sheild a try myself. It looks so damn good. And since i haven't seen a red/chrome mid hieght i doubt there would be any options. Unless of course some one good with photo shop can make some renditions of the black/chrome.
Just bought my RTX today. After looking at the windshields offered by yamaha, I'll have to try the stocker too. Why wouldn't they offer a red chrome?

You could very well be right, the dealer said it was only a couple inch's higher, the lip should make a huge difference though..speculation on my part as I have not received my sled or the new shield yet.
