Does anyone know how many shims to add/subtract to run 8DN belt in place of factory belt?
Is 8DN longer/shorter or wider/narrower than factory belt?
Thanks.

I bought the OSP secondary adjuster with float so you don't have to mess with shims. Easier to change the belt also!

What is the length?
So it must be about 1.5 inches wide?

The 8DN belt is cheaper to buy,but not cheaper material,it is same width but longer,we ran it on the grass, and it did very well,it is a much harder compound so it will show less belt dust, they both shift to the same place on the primary,so not much difference there, just price, about half price of the viper belt 8JP which is softer and wont wear marks on the bottom of your primary but may slip a tad more on top end,i have not had snow to check things out yet,but on grass in 400-600 feet works awesome,so add one .060 thou shim for the 8DN,remove for the 8JP,hope this helps.Does anyone know how many shims to add/subtract to run 8DN belt in place of factory belt?

ive got some 8dns and 8jps if anyones looking..theres benefits to both...the 8dn is very hard...and can groove your primary...the 8jp is softer and the factory preferred belt...I assume the engineers picked it for some reason

I don't know if its the preferred or not, like SJ stated, the 8DN is a very hard compound belt, and at bottom of clutch sheeves it will wear small groves into sheeves, but I have a couple of them so I can swap them out,any time I like, and I will run the two of them side by side testing to see if either one is faster than the other and which one creates more heat, only number you need to give dealer is 8DN apex belt.So the 8dn the preferred belt to run? If so, what number do I give my dealer?
