Second ride report

Nikolai,

Did you see 2 blue shorty (121) FX Nytros with big windshields up there yesterday beating up the trails? (that would have been us I was wearing my orange Ski-doo helmet :( ) We saw about 6 MTX Nytros, and one might have been you, but I wasn't checking for front floats lol!!
Our first impressions were; sleds are pretty damn nice right out of the box. Sucked up the bumps pretty nice. Only bumps that the sled just didn't like were those 7 or 8 trenches that crossed the trail when we were right next to bank. Nothing about the sled that either of us just didn't like.... There can be some improvements but most of those are rider choice or freference. Not nearly as sore today as I though I would be after my first 55 miles. Glad the float worked out for you!! We'll make a plan to meet up I'm not worried!
Thanks again for the reports

Yes we each took 4.6 gallon and went 55 miles. (11.9 mpg for out rirst ride) If our mileage increases like everyone elses we may be closer to 12 or 13. Most of our riding was rough trails with about 3 miles of 3 foot deep swap riding Where we were holding it to the bar. The engine really woke up after about 50 miles (currently has 60miles) Look forward to tomorrows ride!

Thanks for the reporting, let us know how the mileage is after tomorrows ride. It looks like many trips to the gas station this year and I am not happy about it.

We're also heading to Petersville again tomorrow Jeff, maybe we'll see you there.

I've got 191 miles on it so far, all pow riding too :D

11.9 MPG is decent....I'd like to see 12 for medium-hard riding and at least 15 for easy riding...

The good thing is, no one has broken the 500 mile mark yet to know how the sled will perform when fully broken in.

I cannot wait to try my sled...I'm very jealous of you guys who are riding already but I really appreciate the ride reports...

Exactly, I wouldn't get worked up about mileage until someone gets at least a few hundred miles on them. The first tank in my Apex went so fast I thought there was a hole in my tank. I was M F'ing the sled like you wouldn't believe. It got better each tank after till about 500 to 600 miles. Now it's equal in MPG with my buddies 07' F6. Not bad considering it's what a near 30 HP difference. Just give it time to break-in.

Also I couldn't break 10,200 until about 300 to 500 miles either, now she'll jump to about 10,700 and slowly climb to 11,000. It's weird but true.

was it all nytros riding?anything to compare to for mileage?

Ditchbanger,
It was just myself and my Irondog partner (nytro23) We rode the same pace so I wasn't surprized we used compareable amounts of fuel.

Tomrrow I will be riding my stock FX NytroRTX with an my wifes Ski-doo Tn'T (3 miles on it, 100% stock), 06 600 SDI renegade 136x1.75x16 track (fuel mileage KING!), Rev Summit 550F 136x1.5x15 track so we will have a mix of sleds will report in less than 24 hours....

08Nitro

looking forward to your findings after another ride.

I need help..........getting very hard not to be in my shop and starting my dam sled all the time. I will be living through you for the next 6-8 weeks.

details baby.....keep em coming.

cheers and thanks

Something I found weird yesterday. I siphoned out the little bit of fuel remaining in the tank that the dealer had put in. I then turned on the key and had 1 bar showing on the gauge. I filled it up with fresh gas and put exactly 7.4 gallons (right to the bottom of the filler neck).

What's weird is, I thought you had 1-1.5 gallons remaining with 1 bar on the gauge. I'm thinking it might be possible to get more then 7.4 gallons in the tank.

We'll see I guess. First right in a couple of weeks....hopefully!!!

;)! Well said, buddy!! It's way too early to panic about fuel mileage. When it's broke in, then we can start comparing with other sleds and other FX Nytro's!! :flag:
