I've been playing around with the Hurricane alignment tool today and noticed that my secondary bushing seems to have a fair bit of slop in it for a sled with only 1400 miles on it. Anyone else notice this? A worn bushing is pretty hard on belts.

Yes alot of play from get-go here too.
Are you able to get down to around 59mm or so?

Yup, around 58.5 now with a 1mm shim in the back. Had to take off ~3mm from shaft to get there.

So what offset (measured the normal way) does the tool suggest should be used? When you set it up hurricanes way, what does the offset measure?

My offset is about 58.5mm. I couldn’t get anywhere close to this without removing some material from the secondary. After cutting it, my offset is pretty much bang on where Dave wants it using the tool.

My measurements:
Shaft 1.500
Secondary moveable 1.510
Stock helix 1.505
Aftermarket helix 1.501
I have a new bushing for the secondary but haven't replaced it yet. When the secondary is assembled and cycled without a spring the bushing slop seems less problematic.

I took a quick look through the service manual for a spec but didn’t find anything yet so haven’t measured mine. Don’t know that this is a problem or not.

Didn' Dave say that his tool needs an update That it was manufactured wrong ?My offset is about 58.5mm. I couldn’t get anywhere close to this without removing some material from the secondary. After cutting it, my offset is pretty much bang on where Dave wants it using the tool.
