Had my secondary cut down a couple years ago. Then read a discussion about, cutting too much off. I have a guestimate of .020 of gap between washer & sec movable during full shift out. Will this be enough room given thermal expansion?

Best to mock it up in sled and check static clearances. I have had my secondary at full shift leave marks on the jackshaft bearing holder. After further adjustments I had took a black sharpy and colored bearing holder to make sure it was not touching.
Also make sure spacer clears movable sheave bushing when shifted out.

Tim, when you say static do you mean pull the spring out and drop the belt into the secondary in order to verify the distance from movable to bearing holder?Best to mock it up in sled and check static clearances. Thank you...
