How much is too much to trim off secondary?

You should not need to remove more then 2 - 3 mm , unless stub shaft and or bearing has moved !

You will only know the amount once you do a offset measurement!!!!
Like gsxr said first step it to make shur pto isn't pushed in , you also need to check all rollers, bushings ,springs.... in clutches to make sure all is good
Then reinstall and check offset and machine what is necessary

Bought a used secondary and it has 8mm shaved off it. Will this still work? I realize I'll need to add shims but will the sheave hit the bearing mount?

Well, I guess I got screwed then!

If you have 8mm machined off the back hub the hub would be recessed by about 4mm from the back of the inside sheave

When you machine the secondary do you also have to machine the same amount off the aluminum spacer plug?

Here is the measurement

Just space it back out with shim washers. Still useable.

Dont know if you saw my measurement pics but do you still think it will be fine? Worried belt wont drop in far enough. Also, I have osp belt adjuster, will I need to remove material from it like the stock one?
