I mean when you see an ISR Legal stock class race there is rarely a stock sled in the class so it's not a great indication of what your sled will do. Real pro racers, obviously, have more support and access to cooler parts. At this point there are more "cool" parts available from SD and AC for the 2-stroke then there are for the Apex. Then above all of that you have real Pros tuning these sleds. I know our Apex is ALOT faster in 500' now then it was when we got it.
 

Something else for anyone to think about,ya the mach might of had the chip un burnt but how many of us remember riding our new apex right out of the box,with little miles on them,ya you remember how it did not rev past 9300 rpms so where do you think the rtx that ran box stock ran its rpms at???? Was it up to the sweet spot of 10,200-10,400 or was it at 9300-9600 not where it runs the best,just a thought.... how much better could it have ran,so did any one that was there hear what they weighed them in at?? and how many studs did they all carry most years they studded all sleds with 192 just wondering.. ;)!

Thats exactly my point! ;)! I’m sure an ISR "stock" 600 (ECUed and lowered) will take the Mach in 500' ..

Dano..I totally misunderstood your first post lol. You are absolutely right. The HO would run the MZ into the ground. I think the stumbling block for the MZ is it's ECU. I've heard it is REALLY expensive to modify. I saw one run in ameteur at the last race...it was slow..but it was garage stock lol.

I was just over at dootalk, the shootout page is much longer than this one. So many excuses,(we need a longer run,we had only a 1 inch track, the apex has much less torque so it didn't spin as much) real funny stuff.Everybody should go over there and look at it.All I know was I heard crickets at the shootout when the apex put down the quicker run than the mach.If you are lucky enough to run a stock one with your clucthed apex he probably will never catch you.

I assume you only mean in a 500 foot grass race? In real world, my RX1 ran away from REV8s and a couple F7s last year, so I'm not worried about my GT beating one, then again, most real races are alot longer than 500 feet.
 
Yes wolfie that's what we meant. We know longer distances favour the RX..and now the Apex. I guess it depends on your definition of a real race lol. Some of use have whole teams and lots of $$ invested to go 500' lol.

FYI - my brother was out riding with an 05 ZR900. Now, it's not fair because the apex is really clutched but...the ZR is not even close. Like 4 sleds out of the hole then just drove away.

Judging by the results after the dealer prep, it sure looks like that hot box found it's way into that sled! How else are they picking up that much et. and 9 mph on top??? I'd put money on that one :ORC

um....I'll take a shot. It's a 170 hp sled that weighs less than the Apex...? That's just a shot in the dark. If that Mach had 600 horsepower it's ET's wouldn't have been that much better. Too much track spin with the 1" track. Or bad setup? <shrug> Don't do a rolling start with one whatever you do.

You guys realize that the Mach didn't have lowest ET last year in the shootout either right? It may have even been 3rd. <shrug> It's all about hookup. A 500ss would probably pound that bloated pig of a sled to 60 mph. Nothing new. :ORC

OK, So... if I understand your logic, if you were to put an 1 1/4 inch track on the Mach and reduce the hp by about 10 or 15hp it would have beat the Apex???

Looks like were dealing with another frustrated skidog owner here....
There are alot of great new meds being perscribed these days, I'm sure your doc will give you something to help you sleep at night etc.

I do believe the Mach would have a little better with a 1.25" track. That 1" is a joke on it. Like how much are you going to lose with a ripsaw? Maybe 1-2 mph. Big deal, it will definitley have traction to show it's boasted hp.
