Shootout

Pretty quiet on this thread, wonder how things went at the shoot out, any results in

Sound like the initial reports indicate a tough season for our Stock 998's

I couldn't go after all. Had to get home due to power outages at home to check on things, get generator hooked up, etc.
Good thing I hit the trail for a quick rip on Friday before all the snow melted away on Saturday.

I just combed thru the videos on space book, it looks like the Mach Z put a hurting on the Thunder at both et and mph. Mach Z hit 92mph, Tcat hit 87mph.

ya... Something is NOT right... Because I have seen the TCAT do 108in 2020 and last year did 102 and the E.T's were better. I think the 40 degree weather just did not help either. Cant wait for the real racing with real snow and conditions to start and then we will see. Even in stock form, I still think the TCAT would win...

New primary clutch for cat this year. Always been a cat guy and will continue BUT their clutch setups stock are not the best. The 21 8000 cat is short 4-6 grams easy. The thing bangs off the rev limiter in stock form. Not good for a motor. Not saying this is the case with the 22 t cat but if I had to guess some clutch work on setups on this “new” primary will be the ticket. No offense at all. By the way my cabin has tons of Cat posters all over the walls!

IMO, Cat has a history of missing their clutch setups by a mile. Unfortunately, most/many dealers these days don't have anyone that really knows how to tune. When I first got my TCat, the clutching as several grams too light for sure.
