For anyone who is looking for a better secondary for their Viper....the Sidewinder roller secondary fits and I think will be a good upgrade once aftermarket helix's are made (which I heard from one company that castings are already being made)

Thunder Products also has Encapsulated Roller setups for your Viper stock secondary :) He has helix's in stock right now.

This with a belt adjuster...and you would be all set!

I looked at the Thunder website and didn't see an encapsulated roller kit for the Yamaha clutch. I know they used to have one.

They have 25 Encapsulated Roller setups right now....just talked to Lonn 20 minutes ago.

Have you tested this setup with your Viper yet? If so, your thoughts and impressions?

I've had the encapsulated roller setup on my 2 stroke SXR 700 and it was awesome!

I can only imagine it will be so much better than the stock button secondary.

I will have Lonn send me some pictures and he is sending some items my way anyway....I'll try one out.

Here is a pic I found on the internet.... this uses your stock sheaves.

Pretty neat setup and I loved how adjustable they are. You have a bunch of spring setting holes and then you can loosen the 3 12mm nuts and rotate any pressure on the spring you want. Very quick and very easy.

Nice find! Looks to be very adjustable indeed. Might be a great option to try and play with. Any idea on the cost of this or PM me if you know.

Thunder Products is selling the Encapsulated Roller setup for $395 and that will include the helix...any angle you want.

Wanted to bring this back up to see if anyone has tried this? Would it even be worth it over the viper secondary?

The sidewinder roller secondary works on the Viper. I have tried the Sidewinder roller and have the Thunder Products encapsulated roller on the Viper right now

Would you say the Sidewinder Roller Secondary out performs the Viper Button Secondary? Or does the Thunder Roller pan out the same?

Cheers

Is a few Sidewinder guys that switched to Viper/Nytro secondary. If interested maybe there are some takers. For me on SRX roller secondary conversion (aaen) was mostly noticed for faster back shift. Was also easier to adjust spring wind. Never converted my 4strokes because of engine braking. Didn't want to make it worse with faster back shift and peak power spread is bigger and easier to hit clutching wise. Would be neat to try though.
