I have the Extreme Max. I'm on my 3rd screw jack & had to replace the crappy plastic wheels. I couldn't wheel it around. By hand it takes FOREVER to get full up. Using a power tool & going to the very end is how i blew the screw jacks to poop. I've used the hand crank unit with cable & although it worked well, i was always thinking if the cable broke, it could be dangerous considering it's a huge pair of SCISSORS.
That last pic of the aluminum unit looks real nice. It looks strong with multiple STEEL wheels with brakes on them. It has those rear extensions to level out the sled plus rubber on whole unit to prevent sled from moving. This happens when wrenching. TRUST ME! Pay the extra $$$ for the good one. Plus brushed aluminum looks sooo sweet...

I saw he posted on his FB page about a yr ago, it was $325 for that lift-a-sled aluminum with all the best stuff. Shipping is likely a big hit as its a huge package. So the closer you are to Wisconsin the cheaper.Dan.im in the same boat.ive spent about a month looking at reviews.steel.alum etc.i have a winch type i dont like as the winch mount&handle stick out too far&cable wants to hit bumper.ive also got an older "cheap"lift that is bent so badly from use that it drags on the floor(with the wheel kit!) im very impressed with the alum lift you found.it has 8 steel caster wheels&very rugged looking.will be curious to here what he says about $.even at price listed its less than many" cheaper" versions.i also want super quality at fair price
I did find the weight after a ton of searching around.....the FULL shipping weight of the Lift-A-Sled Aluminum Sled Lifting System is only 47 lbs. And that is the total weight of all the extra stuff and packaging, so the actual lift weight is likely only 35-40lbs max. That is less then half the weight of the nice steel units. This for me means alot since it will be being lugged from place to place alot. Im really now leaning toward this Alum unit.
If any of you here think you may want one, I will approach the seller with a group buy.
Dan

Dan, the weight can be a factor like you said. I put mine in my truck to bring to friends' many times & alone it sucks! I also had a wall mount to get it off floor that i abandoned because of weight also. If you can get a group deal, i'm in...

If you wait, j&s usually has a Black Friday sale and I think the j&s is by far way better than any other lift on the market. They will all lift the sled up ok, but the j&s is just much more stable and adjustable if you want the back higher or lower. You get what you pay for and I believe the j&s is that much better than any other lift out there

And let’s be honest the weight isn’t that big of a deal. You may have to move them but they have wheels. And I prefer strong over light.

j&s are super nice, but would not be one to have for moving into your truck/trailer and to another location often like I will be doing from summer home to winter home. As the j&s is likely the most heavy one from the looks of it, guessing well over 100 lbs.And let’s be honest the weight isn’t that big of a deal. You may have to move them but they have wheels. So for the guys who do this type of thing, the ALUM really is king at approx only 40lbs.
I will ask about group buy, anyone interested PM me and will see if we can get enough to get a rate price.

We have the ezmove one and I’m guessing if my 69 year old father can pick it up and put it in a Tahoe on his own aswell as I can move it around fine (not really good base as I’m 6’5” 280lb bridge builder) aluminum would be wonderful thing just for things to be easier. But the cost difference is there. That’s the biggest toss up I think.

Actually the Alum one has much better wheels, and is only abit more in price, and has flip up adjusters, not the threaded type that can be a pain if froze from ice. So the easymove reg price with PC is actually more then the ALUM one in the end.We have the ezmove one and I’m guessing if my 69 year old father can pick it up and put it in a Tahoe on his own aswell as I can move it around fine (not really good base as I’m 6’5” 280lb bridge builder) aluminum would be wonderful thing just for things to be easier. If i did not need to move this back and forth Id be less worried about weight, but now that the pricing is coming down, the other benefits of the weight is great too, and no need for paint or PC....small shop hang it on the wall to get out of the way, light enough to do easily. I guess id rather be loading a 40lb item into my trailer rather then a 100lb item, over and over...lol
And the best thing so far is the reviews, guys just rave about the alum lift. While most others are mixed for either one reason or another. many being the wheels dont last. This one now has steel wheels, so hard to beat it.

Just ordered the Lift-A-Sled aluminum lift tonight. I went thru Ken at whiplash powersports. Got a great deal and very excited. If anyone wants one, please shoot me a PM and I will give you Kens email, and he answers quickly with any questions you may have. Tell him rockerdan sent you, and you just may get a discount..lol
I will surely slap up some pics when I get it home and the new WINDER sitting on it...no more sore back bending over!

you are probably correct..its very heavy duty steel...I remember the son and his girlfriend sitting on the sled while lifted at the show...impressive...on a related note...I errantly only lowered one of the two support struts while it supported my sled...it bent the other..user error on my part....but guess what..I called them today and without question even though I told them it was my fault...they sent one out!

I know this is a winder forum, but I've wanted a lift for my Attak (Apex). Two things that keep stopping me are that the rear supports on all the ones I've seen will rest right on the heat exchangers, and the second is that the front cross support is going across the belly pan. Is that really a strong enough point? Is the winder setup the same way with these? Is there a concern at all for the points I mentioned? I know tons of folks use these, so it must be ok.
