SLP hyfax anti wear pads

I too read somewhere that they are SS but mine do appear to have just the slightest amount of rust. Similar to the coating of rust the clips get. Washed off within the first few seconds of riding anyway ;)!

I rememeber installing the first set on my Warrior. I left the track tight and was having a bear of a time rotating it by hand. Once the installed ones hit the front curve of the hyfax the free wheeling feel was incredible ;)!
Once fully installed I could set the #*$&@ end of the sled on my shop floor and with the ski's on casters could push the sled with one finger to get it to roll. I actually found this out by accident; When I dropped the #*$&@ end of the sled down after installing the pads I sat down behind the sled to pickup the tools I was using, I grabbed the rear grab bar to lift myself up and the sled slide away from me and on my face I went :o|

Are there any Canadian distributors (Ontario preferrably) or do I need to order from SLP directly in the States?

They are not Stainless but Plated!

Looking at them in my hand, they are definately plated, not stainless. :drink:
Ok so its official I cant find anything that says different. Anyways I would not use a elevator bolt...I would drill the 1 and 1/8 inch holes 1st, the elevator bolts would be not very effective with no dome shape to them and a carriage bolt is too much dome and not wide enough and not a much cheaper route THE END. LaLaLa

I've done about 5000km on carriage bolts and they still work very well and the hyfax hasn't been damaged by the dome. So I don't think it's to much dome, and it cost me $5 for a complete set to a 136"

Thats great I'm glad its working for you, and its probally better than nothing... but wider area just like the wider hyfax yammi has gone with means better wear, better performance..I personally would rather spend a few extra bucks and buy something that was made especially for a certain application you usually would benifit from it in the longer run ...you get what you pay for usually falls into play. Also I drilled 5/16 holes in my hyfax to add extra cooling and I would be concerned with the pointier head and less surface area of a carriage bolt IMO.

Stupid question...where EXACTLY do you drill the hole in the track to install the wear pads??? I am running a 151/2", extrovert drivers with every third window punched out and clipped every third. Does the hole get drilled through the rubber where there is no clip??? Confused....

That is exactly where you put them! :D ;)!

CONFUSED AGAIN! I thought I understood Bob M's reply quite clearly, but now I see NY_Warrior posted a pic where they are installed on the windows. My track has all the windows punched out and clipped every third. I emailed SLP to ask the question if it's okay to put them in the "bar" but haven't heard anything back.

RXMountain forum, the guys there say not to clip because of extra weight and difficulty clipping a 2" paddle. So I took the easy way out by not clipping.

SLP's tech info line has been busy all morning.

If you cut the window out already Pete don't worry about it then. The pads are there to keep that hunk of rubber you cut out from sticking to the hyfax.
