Does anybody have a fix for snow filling the nose cone. I put screens on the crescent vents and duct taped the oil vent. I even put some duct tape in the nose cone itself. Where is it coming from? I wasn't in powder deep enough to reach the upper vents.

I do but only on the really deep days. Not sure where it's coming from, I always assumed it was from the vents below the headlight.

The headlight area drops tons of snow into the belly......I used self-adhesive foam weatherstrip around the light. Works great!

my best guess is it is coming in where the upper a-arms go in... and I really don't know how to stop it.... my whole sled was full of snow after riding is some deeper snow, my buddies were amazed at how much snow actually got in there.

I screened the vents in the side panels and used prefilter material on the oil can vent but I didn't want to block off to much air from getting in there...

yep, i think it gets in thru the small cracks..around the bumper..anywhere light will shine through.

another prime example of a sled built for the trail 1st, and for the DEEP snow 2nd..

to all manufs, please build a TRUE mountain/DEEP SNOW snowmobile, that is tested and RIDDEN in the deep snow. thanks~

I really only seem to notice this if I am following someone all day.. On the trail, not out in the deep. Yes some still gets in but just not nearly as much. I havent touch the front area other than put a vent in the hood..

The nose of my MTX SE was filled with snow the last time I rode in deep snow. It was the worst I had ever seen it. Not only that, but my skidplate was very close to being blown off the sled as well ! There was a HUGE bulge of snow/ice between the skidplate and subframe, there was at least a 5 inch gap between the frame and plate due to all the snow ! I removed the skidplate the day after I put the sled in the heated garage, and even after 16hrs in the heat, the block of ice I removed from that area was at least 12-15lbs !!!

I used prefilter material that has good airflow on the all vents, even around the head light. Then I siliconed the inside pannels where snow could get through. An easy way to find out where to silicone is to shine a light at the outside while looking inside. If lights getting through so will the snow dust.

Cheers

Put a plastic bag slightly larger than the cone size in the cone, then fill it with expandable foam (latex type - it's easier to clean up if it gets away from you ;)! )

It will conform to everything.

You're running the TS boonie bumper, right? Did you close off the two slots where the OEM bumper used to go through? Wouldn't surprise me if there was snow sneaking in there. Just a thought.

I had the same problem with the skidplate coming off. While riding west last week the snow built up between the skidplate and bellypan. It tore the bellypan, before it finally came off.. And like noted about 6in of snow/ice betweeen the two. Lets see what the dealer says about it! Maybe some bigger washer in the nose cone will be the fix.

Correct. I did silicone the 2 slots and still got the the build up. I think the snow is just coming from the belly pan around the a-arms. I added some more duct tape and put on a Roest skid plate. I will see if this helps next weeekend.

thanks
