SNOWGOER SLAMMED THE MONOSHOCK

Snowgoer sucks anyway, i cancelled my subscription 2 years ago. Its mostly advertisements anyway.

well, considering all the issues that have come up with the mono-shock suspension.....its no wonder it got a bad review. i dont think yammi designed that skid for mogul trashing ......if they did...they best add another shock. JMO

I too cancelled my snogoer two years ago.. I noticed long time ago that they rate sleds acording to how much $$$$ they are being paid..

I now get AMSNOW and SNOW TECH... the best two mags out there.

not true... If I remember right the Mono-shock was the rear skid in the snow-cross Sleds from Yamaha.

yea yure prob right.....we shall seee this yr as most of the 06"s have the mono ra. just doesnt seem like a single shock would be very durable.
;):D looks to me like the whole system is dsigned to shed lbs.

This is not the monoshock from snow cross, excellent artical in Sno Tech about the evolution of this suspension (and quality) I am sure you could find it with a search.

I, like others have found Sno Tech reviews to be the most accurate and Supertrax the next best. Amsnow is improving since Basset has taken a larger role.

Generally a Highschool journalism class could write snow goer just after reading the brochures. No riding needed. I hope they improve as I love to read and dream with all these Mags. But often feel Snogoer just put the OEM material into an article.

My 2 cents
Yamadoo aka Yamapoo

Here's a couple lines from snow-tech. Talkin' bout the Ape x...The rear suspension is capable, but not the only game in town. A Firecat it is not, so you're better off keeping it on the ground, with airtime at a minimum. Sep.2005 issue.

Is a chevy pickup more than 4 times as heavy as a snowmobile? If the answer is yes, then one shock will hold fine. If you're referring to the stress points though, also no reason it wouldn't work. Look at the ExpertX skid... I know it has two shocks, but they're parallel, so it is effectively a monoshock skid. We can say its a monoshock bump pounder, and its been around for a while.

I'm sure glad my dirt bike, Street bike and quad all have double shocks. Hey wait, they're all mono shockers :o|

m10rules. Funny you should select a couple lines and not give the whole story. "The rear suspension is capable, but not the only show in town. It is very compliant yet able to soak up wicked size bumbs, so we'd call it an awesome bump suspension. A Firecat it is not, so you're better off keeping the machine on the ground, with airtime at a minimum." If you are going to quote them why not tell it the way they intended it.

I have an Attak comming. Sold my 04' X-Gade. That..... is a great riding sled, by the way! Looking forward to the Attak though, the only thing I think it will need is a better deep snow ski and a more agressive track for the POW! I'm not nervous about the ride quality, I'm sure it will be fine. One thing for sure, it will no doubt be outdated by Feb of 06', when the 07' info hits the news. I've found over the years that it doesn't pay to get too worked up over so called " TEST REPORTS" some info will be legitimate and other info is just BS. Just remember winter is short for most of us, so don't get bummed over something that you read, the author most likley doesn't even own a current model sled. Oh yea, my favorite Rags are SnowTech, and SnowWest. The others are just fillers at best!

APEX ER on order/still debating over a Attack, they said it handled the trail better

I haven't read the article. Which one handled better.. Apex or Attak?

Canuck, I thought the Attack handled better with the limited ride (a few miles). I went with a Apex, my buddy went witha Attack. Were about the same weight so I will really know this season.

Keep the shiny side up   :4STroke: :yam: :flag: ;)!
