So a buddy of mine installed a set of snowtracker skags on my 09 apex. I took it for a ride today and it handle really bad. To me it looks like they are installed to far forward on the ski. What are your thoughts?

What about what the instructions say where they should be at.
Look to far forward from my memory, but hard to tell from pic so not sure unless i measure mine tomorrow.

He doesn't have the instructions any more so I can't check

Go to their web site and check your set up. You will love them. I have them on both my APEX and VECTOR, new on Vector and today was the best that sled ever handled.
I have read people bragging about these for years I am now a believer

Are they the original ski's or aftermarket ones.

I believe they are stock skis but not 100% sure. I purchased the sled at the end of last year. here is another pic of the sled and skis

Those are stock skis. How far back from the tip of the ski is the holed drilled for the carbide protector? It should be 12.5" from the tip.
Should look like these pics. First two are on Mtn skis and the next two are stock skis.

Not positive but based on the photo that does not look like the correct snow tracker for the apex ski

Ok took the skis off and took them apart. First yes I am 12.5" from the front of the ski to the hole. What I did find is my carbide only has 3 bolts and not 4. I think for sure the carbide is to short for sure in addition I see I can install the carbide on the ski two ways as you can see from the pics.

That carbide looks like the ones I had on my 02 Viper. Unless Snowtracker has changed the design but it looks wrong according to the sets I have.
The center of the carbide should line up with the ski bolt.

Can anyone send me the directions so I can look at them? My buddy installed these and no longer has the directions. I want to make sure everything is setup correct as it should be

So little more info now. Sounds like these are the correct carbides and they are the semi agressive ones (3 bolts) compared to the agressive (4 bolts). It sounds like they are installed correctly but my issue is I am pushing through corners and not getting any grip. Almost hit a tree twice yesterday. My shocks have all been rebuilt this year and instead of the stock front shocks I have installed a set of yamaha GYTR shocks. I beleive I am just not getting enough bit in the corners. I am 220 pounds and looking for the best way to setup the shocks so I get better grip. Going down the trails I don't have any darting at all just sucks in the corners. Any suggestions would be great
