Some thoughts on oil consumption

Well with all the negative words I have had to say about the way Yamaha was treating me with my engine problems, it makes me very happy to be able to say something positive. I spoke with Yamaha today, and apparently because of the condition the dealer left my motor in, Yamaha decided to authorize a BRAND NEW ENGINE for my sled. The estimated shipping date is the end of this month. And, apparently Yamaha was as concerned as I was about having the previous mechanic work on the sled, because they will be sending someone out to make sure the engine is installed correctly! With some luck, I should have my sled back in early-mid December, ready for the season!!!

Now, I'm not jumping up and down waving flags and blowing bubbles about this YET. I have heard similar things from them before, such as 9 months ago when I was told my sled would be getting fixed. But at least there is new hope. If this comes true, and they stand behind their word, I will be making a new post thanking them publicly. I still don't feel it should have taken 3 years of fighting with them, and 9 months worth of work to resolve this, but at least they are coming through in the end.

I'm sure it will, there is only the small bit of skepticism because of the past experiences, but I think that with an actual Yamaha rep handling things, I shouldn't have much to worry about.
